"Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" / "Drive" is a split 7" single by Marissa Nadler and Father John Misty, released by Bella Union in 2014. Nadler covered a track by Father John Misty from his 2012 album Fear Fun , and Father John Misty covered a track from Nadler's 2014 album July .
The single was issued as a white label release limited to 350 copies. Bella Union said that this "one-off vinyl pressing has no A-side, and therefore no B–side, it is equitable and without prejudice." [1]
Hollywood Forever Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles, California. Located at 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, it was founded in 1899 as Hollywood Cemetery, and later known as Hollywood Memorial Park until 1998 when it was given its current name. The studios of Paramount Pictures are located at the south end of the same block, on 40 acres (16 ha) that were once part of the cemetery but held no interments.
Marissa Nadler is an American musician and fine artist based in Boston, Massachusetts. Active since 2000, she is currently signed to Sacred Bones Records and Bella Union, and released her eighth full-length studio album, For My Crimes, in September 2018. As a singer-songwriter, her music defies simple classification. Her work "is rooted in old-school country and folk but brings in elements of experimental and black metal". Sometimes the term "dream folk" has been invoked to describe her work.
