Baptism is a black metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1998 by vocalist/guitarist Lord Sargofagian and drummer Demonium. The summer of that year the band released their first demo, Satanic Rituals, although very few copies were released. Following a two-year hiatus the band released their second demo, Sons of Ruin & Terror, in 2000. Similar to the last demo the release was limited. After the addition of bassist Slaughterer the band released their first full-length album, The Beherial Midnight, on June 12, 2002. The band release three more albums in 2004; a split CD with Uncreation's Dawn, and the EPs Wisdom & Hate and Black Ceremony. Slaughterer and Demonium left the band following the release of Wisdom & Hate, leaving Lord Sargofagian as the only official member. The band has continued with various session musicians, and have released four more full-length albums.

Celestiial is a funeral doom metal band from Minnesota. Initially consisting only of Tanner R. Anderson, the band was later joined by Jason William Walton (bass) and Timothy Glenn (percussion). Celestiial is known for using numerous instruments in its music, combining traditional folk instruments with those more typically used in metal music, as well as sampling the sounds of the natural world. Celestiial's music is intended to evoke images of the natural world.

<i>Scorn Defeat</i> 1993 studio album by Sigh

Scorn Defeat is the first full-length album by the Japanese black metal band Sigh, released in 1993 by Deathlike Silence Productions. It is the band's most traditional black metal album, taking on a formula lyrically compared to their Scandinavian peers. The album takes its title from a line in the title track from Venom's 1981 album Welcome to Hell. On Scorn Defeat, the line itself is said on "At My Funeral".

Kohti Yhdeksän Nousua is the first full-length studio album by the black metal band Horna. It was released on Solistitium Records in 1998 and was limited to 1500 copies. It was re-released on vinyl under Blut & Eisen Productions in December 2006, with modified artwork, 5 additional tracks recorded in 2000 and the title appended with (Sis. Ordo Regnum Sathanas). It was limited to 666 copies, with the first 100 of which being printed on grey and black vinyl. The cover bears resemblance to Darkthrone's A Blaze in the Northern Sky. The title is a reference to the nine Nazgûl from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.

Haudankylmyyden Mailla is the second full-length studio album by the black metal band Horna. It was released on Solistitium Records in 1999 and was limited to 1,500 copies. It was then re-released by Omvina Records in 2005, and again on Blut & Eisen Productions in 2007. Both re-released versions have some type of alteration from the original version.

<i>Sudentaival</i> 2001 studio album by Horna

Sudentaival is the third full-length studio album by the black metal band Horna. Roughly translated, sudentaival means "the wolf's path". It was released in 2001 by Woodcut Records. An LP version was later released by Sombre Records and was limited to 350 copies. The South American version includes two bonus tracks, "Koston Talvi" and "Voitonmalja". These were the very first tracks done with Corvus.

Sotahuuto is the sixth studio album by the Finnish black metal band Horna. It was released on November 6, 2007 by Grievantee Productions on CD, by Deviant Records on vinyl, which were limited to 500 copies, and by Moribund Records. The album was a tribute to Bathory and was written in spring 2004.

Naer Mataron is a Greek black metal band which draws on imagery from Greek mythology. The band was formed in 1994 after splitting from Nar Mataron, and was soon signed to Black Lotus Records, with whom they released four studio albums. Moving through numerous line-ups, the band has seen influences from other genres of music, including a traditional black metal release and songs featuring elements of melodic black metal and industrial music.

<i>Sanojesi Äärelle</i> 2008 studio album by Horna

Sanojesi Äärelle is the seventh studio album by the Finnish black metal band Horna. It was published by Debemur Morti Productions on September 29, 2008. The Digi-CD-version was released via Moribund Records. while the vinyl version was handled through Deviant Records by being limited to 666 copies - 150 of them in coloured vinyl, that meant first ones in green vinyl, second ones of them in clear vinyl. Each record comes in separate single cover sleeve, with lyric sheet and a flyer. A tape version was publicized and bounded to 15 copies. It's the last Horna album to feature Corvus on vocals.

Armagedda is a Swedish black metal band that was founded in 1999.

Paysage d'Hiver is an ambient black metal band from Burgdorf, Canton of Berne, Switzerland. Formed in 1997, the sole member is Wintherr, an alias of Tobias Möckl, who also plays with Darkspace as Wroth. "Paysage d'Hiver" is a French term, meaning "landscape of winter"; indeed, their songs' lyrics address primarily winter, darkness, and astral projection. Wintherr has cited the Burzum albums Hvis lyset tar oss and Filosofem, among others, as an inspiration for his music. All of Paysage d'Hiver's own material is released through Kunsthall Produktionen, a label Wintherr runs together with Nimosh of the band Nordlicht.

<i>Junius / Rosetta</i> 2011 EP by Junius and Rosetta

Junius / Rosetta is a split EP by American art rock band Junius and American post metal band Rosetta. After several years of planning, the title was made available on September 27, 2011 through Translation Loss in CD format and on November 22, 2011 through The Mylene Sheath in vinyl format. However, the vinyl release was limited, and only 1,000 copies have been pressed for distribution. Junius / Rosetta includes two original tracks by both bands and a download card to obtain additional content online, including two cover songs originally by Soundgarden and Hum.

<i>Fear Is the Weapon</i> 2010 compilation album by Tombs

Fear Is The Weapon is a compilation album from American metal band Tombs. The compilation includes tracks off of their self-titled EP, split EP, and demos from the Winter Hour sessions. It was released through Relapse Records on November 2, 2010 in CD and digital download formats. The CD release was limited to 1,000 copies.

<i>Instinctus Bestialis</i> 2015 studio album by Gorgoroth

Instinctus Bestialis is the ninth full-length studio album by Norwegian black metal act Gorgoroth. It was released on 8 June 2015 by Soulseller Records. It was also released digitally, as well as on digipak CD in a limited first pressing, limited black vinyl LP and limited picture vinyl LP. It is the first album to feature vocalist Atterigner and was the last to feature bassist Bøddel, who died from cancer four months after the album's release. The album cover is taken from a painting called Christ in Limbo.
