Howard Wellman (born July 23, 1944, in Bluefield, West Virginia) is a political leader who has held multiple state offices in West Virginia and currently serves as 49th Sergeant at Arms of the West Virginia Senate.
Wellman is a 1962 graduate of Montcalm High School in Montcalm, West Virginia and completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Bluefield State College.
Wellman is the son of David and Betty Wellman. He is married to Beverly (Crane) Wellman and has two children Wendy and Jennifer.
Wellman served the State of West Virginia as Assistant to the Commissioner of the Department of Highways from 1978 to 1980. He then served as Assistant to West Virginia Governor Jay Rockefeller from 1981 to 1984 when he was appointed to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1984 to fill a vacancy created by the death of Don Anello. He was elected to the House of Delegates in his own right in 1986 and served until 1988, when he was forced to leave to address personal health issues. He returned to active public life in 2005 when he was elected Sergeant at Arms of the Senate.
Arthur Ingram Boreman was an American lawyer, politician and judge who helped found the U.S. state of West Virginia. Raised in Tyler County, West Virginia, he served as the state's first Governor, and a United States senator, as well as represented Wood County in the Virginia House of Delegates, and served as a circuit judge before and after his federal service.

Evan Hollin Jenkins is an American politician and judge. He served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, joining the Court in 2018 and serving as chief justice in 2021. He resigned from the court on February 4, 2022. He served as a U.S. Representative from West Virginia from 2015 to 2018. He is a Republican, having switched his party affiliation from Democratic in 2013.

Robert D. Beach is an American politician and a Democratic member of the West Virginia State Senate representing District 13 since January 2011. Beach was also the Democratic nominee for West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture in 2020. Beach served consecutively in the West Virginia Legislature's House of Delegates from January 2001 until January 2011, and non-consecutively from his May 1998 appointment to fill the vacancy caused by the passing of his father, the late Delegate Robert C. Beach, until December 3, 1998, in the West Virginia House of Delegates within the 44 Delegate District.
Mike Woelfel is a Democratic member of the West Virginia Senate representing the 5th district. The 5th district includes all of Cabell County and a small portion of northern Wayne County. In 2022, Woelfel was chosen as Minority Leader of the Senate.

On August 30, 2023, Honaker resigned from the House of Delegates after his appointment as the inspector general of the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security.
