I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is a British survival reality television game show, created by London Weekend Television (LWT), produced by ITV Studios, and aired live on ITV from Australia. The format sees a group of celebrities living together within an Australian jungle camp, coping with a few creature comforts. Each member not only undertakes in challenges to secure additional food and treats for the group, but also to avoid being voted out by viewers during their stay, with the final episode's votes nominating who wins a series and become crowned as "Jungle King/Queen".
ITV is a British free-to-air television network with its headquarters in London, it was launched in 1955 as Independent Television under the auspices of the Independent Television Authority to provide competition to BBC Television, that was established in 1932. ITV is also the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, its legal name has been Channel 3, to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, namely BBC 1, BBC 2 and Channel 4. In part, the number 3 was assigned because television sets would usually be tuned so that the regional ITV station would be on the third button, with the other stations being allocated to the number within their name.
Ant & Dec are an English TV presenting duo, consisting of Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Formed after their meeting as actors on CBBC's drama, Byker Grove, they performed together as pop musicians PJ & Duncan, the names of their characters from Byker Grove. The duo have since led successful careers as television presenters, best-known for currently hosting Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and Britain's Got Talent. Previous hosting credits include SMTV Live, CD:UK, Friends Like These, Pop Idol, PokerFace, Push the Button, Red or Black?, and Text Santa. They presented the annual Brit Awards in 2001, 2015 and 2016.
The show began with 10 celebrity contestants. On 19 November, they were joined by two new contestants [3] – David Van Day and Timmy Mallett – who were 'kidnapped' on their way into camp, making a total of 12 contestants. [4]
David Van Day is an English singer and media personality, formerly a member of the pop duo Dollar. He was also a member of the 1970s vocal group Guys 'n' Dolls, and a latter-day version of Bucks Fizz in the 1990s.
Timmy Mallett is an English TV presenter, broadcaster, and artist. He is known for his striking visual style, colourful glasses, loud shirts, and giant pink foam mallet, known as "Mallett's Mallet", as well as his "utterly brilliant!" and "blaaah!" catchphrases.

For the first four days of the show, the group of celebrities were split between two camps: "Home", and "Away". The celebrities in each group were:
Which group lived in which camp was decided by the first Bushtucker Trial. As Joe won, his group moved in to Home Camp, whilst Simon's group moved into Away Camp. The two camps competed in Bushtucker Trials, with the winning camp receiving better food.
Home was the better of the two camps, featuring a London Bus for the celebrities to sleep in. Contestants in Home camp received British food if they won head-to-head Bushtucker Trials. Meanwhile, the celebrities in Away Camp were forced to sleep on the jungle floor, and received Australian food if they won trials. There was also a jail in away camp for 'naughty' celebs. [5]
On 18 November 2008, the two camps merged. The celebrities in the Away Camp moved into the Home Camp. The merger was due to take place on the morning of 19 November 2008, however it was brought forward after a storm left the Away Camp flooded.
The contestants take part in daily trials to earn food.
