The Idaho State Bengals Women's Basketball team represents Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big Sky Conference, and play their home games at Reed Gym. [2]
Idaho State began play in 1974. They were members of the Intermountain from 1976 to 1978, the IMC in 1980 to 1982 before joining the Mountain West Athletic Conference (which merged with the Big Sky in 1988) in 1982. As of the end of the 2015–16 season, they have an all-time record of 534–614. They have made seven postseason appearances, four in the NCAA Tournament (2001, 2007, 2012) and four in the WNIT (2004, 2006, 2008, 2013), and they have lost in the First Round each time. The Big Sky Conference is a collegiate athletic conference, affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. As of 2024, ten full member institutions are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Two affiliate members from California are football–only participants.

The Bengals, led by tenth year head coach Seton Sobolewski, played their home games at Reed Gym. They were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 21–11, 11–7 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Big Sky women's tournament, where they lost to Northern Colorado. Despite having 21 wins and a better record, they were not invited to a postseason tournament for the 2nd year in a row.

The Bengals, led by seventh-year head coach Bill Evans, played their home games at Holt Arena and Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 11–19, 7–13 in Big Sky play to finish in 11th place. They lost in the first round of the Big Sky tournament to Southern Utah.

They finished the season 20–11, 15–5 in Big Sky play, to finish in a tie for second place. They lost in the semifinals of the Big Sky women's tournament to Eastern Washington. They received an at-large bid to the WNIT where they lost to Arizona in the first round.

They finished the season 13–11, 8–6 in Big Sky play, to finish a tie for fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky tournament to Montana State.
