Dương Văn Minh, popularly known as Big Minh, was a South Vietnamese politician and a senior general in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and a politician during the presidency of Ngô Đình Diệm. In 1963, he became chief of a military junta after leading a coup in which Diệm was assassinated. Minh lasted only three months before being toppled by Nguyễn Khánh, but assumed power again as the fourth and last President of South Vietnam in April 1975, two days before surrendering to North Vietnamese forces. He earned his nickname "Big Minh", because at approximately 1.83 m (6 ft) tall and weighing 90 kg (198 lb), he was much larger than the average Vietnamese.
Nguyễn Khánh was a South Vietnamese military officer and Army of the Republic of Vietnam general who served in various capacities as head of state and prime minister of South Vietnam while at the head of a military junta from January 1964 until February 1965. He was involved in or against many coup attempts, failed and successful, from 1960 until his defeat and exile from South Vietnam in 1965. Khánh lived out his later years with his family, in exile in the United States, and died of pneumonia and end-stage kidney failure at a hospital in San Jose, California, on 11 January 2013.
Trịnh Công Sơn was a famous Vietnamese, musician, songwriter, painter and poet. He is widely considered to be Vietnam's best songwriter. His music explores themes of love, loss, and anti-war sentiments during the Vietnam War, for which he was censored by both the southern Republic of Vietnam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Many performing artists, most notably Khánh Ly, Trinh Vinh Trinh, and some overseas singers such as Tuan Ngoc, Le Quyen, Le Thu, and Ngoc Lan, have gained popularity in their own right from covering Trịnh's songs.

It is a direct continuation of Paris By Night 62: Âm Nhạc Không Biên Giới, that was released at the end of 2001.
Vietnam Idol is a Vietnamese reality television competition to find new solo singing talents. It is part of the Idol franchise; it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Starting from season 3, the show was produced by Vietnam Television and the BHD Pictures, replacing the joint-venture between Ho Chi Minh City Television and Dong Tay Promotion from the previous two seasons.
Major Nguyễn Văn Nhung was an officer in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). After joining the French Army in 1944 during the colonial era of Vietnam, he soon met and became the aide-de-camp and bodyguard of Dương Văn Minh, and spent the rest of his career in this role as Minh rose up the ranks to become a general. Nhung and Minh later transferred to the French-backed Vietnamese National Army (VNA) during the First Indochina War and he became an officer; the VNA then became the ARVN after the creation of the Republic of Vietnam. A soft-spoken man, Nhung was a professional military hitman who was reputed to have etched a line on his revolver for each of his killings, and ended the lives of 50 people during his career.
Lương Bích Hữu is a Chinese Vietnamese actress and pop singer. Before working with the Thế Giới Giải Trí, Huu was one of the Nguyễn Productions singers. After working in the company and as member of girl group H.A.T., she returned to Nguyễn Productions and released her first solo album called "Cô gái Trung Hoa", which means "Chinese girl". It was the first solo album of a H.A.T member. In 2008 she briefly joined girl group Ngũ Long Công Chúa. After releasing her third album, she left Nguyễn Productions and founded her own company, Khải Sao Entertainment.
Major General Mai Hữu Xuân was a general of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) and a participant in the November 1963 coup that deposed President Ngô Đình Diệm and ended in his assassination.
Colonel Dương Hiếu Nghĩa was an officer in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. He graduated from the Đà Lạt National Military Academy. During the Vietnam War, he served in various infantry and armored units. His highest administrative position was Province Chief of Vĩnh Long.

Miss World 2010, the 60th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 October 2010 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. 121 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar crowned her successor Alexandria Mills of the United States at end of the event.
Paris By Night 59: Cây Đa Bến Cũ is a Paris By Night TV program produced by Thúy Nga that was filmed at CBC Toronto Studios - Studio 40, Toronto, Canada in 2000. Nguyễn Ngọc Ngạn was the master of ceremonies for this program. This was a volume in the series Paris By Night that did not include a comedy skit or have something known as a "Hài Kịch". The DVD version of Paris By Night required only a single disc, while the VHS version is a three-tape set. This program had no audience. On April 25, 2019, the show was uploaded in its entirety to the official Thúy Nga Productions YouTube channel.

It was filmed in Paris, France, and was hosted by Nguyễn Ngọc Ngạn and Nguyễn Cao Kỳ Duyên. The items focused on the works of composers Trần Trịnh, Ngô Thụy Miên, and Nhật Ngân.
