Indhu V. S is an Indian film director and screenwriter who predominantly works in Malayalam films. [2] She directed 19(1)(a) . [3] [4] The film marks Vijay Sethupathi's debut in a character role in Malayalam and his second Malayalam film after Maarconi Mathaai. [5] The film released directly on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on 29 July 2022. [6] The film won the International Federation of Film Critics for the best Malayalam film of a debut director at the International Film Festival of Kerala in 2022. [6] [7]

Biography

Indhu started her film career in 2010 as an assistant to Malayalam director Salim Ahamed. [8] Adaminte Makan Abu, Kunjananthante Kada and Pathemari are some of the films that she worked on as an assistant director. Her debut as an independent director was marked by the release of the movie 19(1)(a) Featuring Vijay Sethupathi, [9] [10] Nithya Menen, [11] [12] Indrajith Sukumaran [13] and Indrans. Indhu has written and directed the film. It won the International Federation of Film Critics at the International Film Festival Of Kerala (International Film Festival of Kerala). [14] The film has also been selected at the Moscow International Film Festival 2023 (MIFF). [15]
