Introvert/Extrovert is a compilation album by Canadian-American rock supergroup Saint Asonia. [2] It was released on December 9, 2022 through Spinefarm Records. The album was released physically and combines both their previous EPs Introvert and Extrovert. [3]
The Introvert EP was released on July 1, 2022. [4] The EP was announced on May 6, 2022 along with the lead single "Above It All". [5] The EP also includes a cover of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" and promotional single "Better Late Than Never". [6] [7] The EP was written during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. [8] Speaking about Introvert, Adam Gontier stated, "The title was fitting with the way the songs were written. We wrote and recorded individually. It's a weird situation to make a record and not to be in the same room as your band. I felt like an introvert when I was working on these songs." [9] The EP was recorded outside of Toronto, which was produced by Anton DeLost. Guitarist Mike Mushok recorded his parts from his home studio in Connecticut. [10]
The Extrovert EP was released on November 18, 2022. The lead single "Wolf" was released on October 21, 2022. [11] "Devastate" was released as the second single from the EP on February 7, 2023. [12] A music video for the song premiered on March 16, 2023. [13] The group embarked on the Rock Resurrection Tour in March and April 2023, with support from Theory of a Deadman and Skillet. [14] They later headlined the Devastate Tour in May. [15]

Taylor Markarian of Blabbermouth.net gave a mixed review on the Introvert EP. He criticized the EP for its predictability and stated that the tracks were "difficult to distinguish from one another." He did however, praise the song "So What", calling it the standout track. He also complimented the track, "Left Behind" for its guitar solo. Despite the mixed review, he remarked, "each song is just catchy enough to keep listening." [16]
Reggie Edwards of The Front Row Report gave a positive review on Extrovert, calling the EP, "a hard-hitter from front to back and has no filler whatsoever." He praised the lead track, "Devastate", as well as the second track, "Break the Mold", stating, "an emotion-filled epic track with some of the catchiest guitars Mushok has ever laid down." He ended off noting, "Saint Asonia continue to prove why they shouldn't be remembered just for what they've done in the past but that their legacy continues to be built." [17] Samuel Stevens of Crucial Rhythm stated, "The six tracks on Extrovert are quite in-your-face, heavier, and are a more technical set of tunes. Whereas the seven tracks on Introvert were more straight to the point, more stripped back in a sense, and more 'radio friendly'." [1]

Staind is an American rock band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. The lineup has been stable outside of the 2011 departure of Wysocki, who was replaced by Sal Giancarelli. Staind has recorded and released eight studio albums: Tormented (1996), Dysfunction (1999), Break the Cycle (2001), 14 Shades of Grey (2003), Chapter V (2005), The Illusion of Progress (2008), Staind (2011), and Confessions of the Fallen (2023).
Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario, in 1992 originally as Groundswell. Groundswell played in various local Norwood backyard parties and area establishments before disbanding in 1995 and regrouping in 1997 under its current name.
Adam Wade Gontier is a Canadian rock musician. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for Saint Asonia, but is best known as the co-lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the rock band Three Days Grace. He co-founded the band in 1992, remaining with them until 2013 and eventually returning in 2024. In addition to his work with Three Days Grace and Saint Asonia, he has been involved in collaborations with other bands including Art of Dying, Apocalyptica, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch.
Spinefarm Records is an international record label responsible for notable rock and heavy metal releases from Sleep Token, Scorpions, Bullet For My Valentine, Killing Joke and Black Veil Brides, among others. Founded in Finland in 1990, Spinefarm was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2002.
Michael Mushok is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist for the nu metal band Staind. He is a member of supergroup Saint Asonia and played in the band Newsted.

Newsted is an American heavy metal band formed in October 2012. The first lineup was led by Jason Newsted on bass and lead vocals, along with drummer Jesus Mendez Jr., guitarist Jessie Farnsworth, with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok joining in 2013. The band released the four-song EP Metal on January 8, 2013, and followed up with the full-length debut album Heavy Metal Music on August 6, 2013. Guitarist Mushok stated that there were no plans for the band to regroup for any further touring or recording, explaining that Jason Newsted "shut down" the project in early 2014. Newsted broke silence in 2016 to explain having been overwhelmed with projects.
Human is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. The album was released on March 31, 2015 through RCA Records. Saint Asonia is a Canadian-American hard rock supergroup consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Gontier, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Cale Gontier, and drummer Cody Watkins. In 2017, the band's original drummer, Rich Beddoe, left the band and was replaced by Mushok's Staind bandmate Sal Giancarelli, and one year later bassist and backing vocalist Corey Lowery left the band to join Seether and his place was taken by Gontier's cousin Cale Gontier. The band formed in Toronto, Canada in 2015 after Gontier's departure from Three Days Grace in 2013. Their second studio album, titled Flawed Design, was released on October 25, 2019. On January 26, 2020, Art of Dying drummer Cody Watkins became the new drummer for Saint Asonia replacing Sal Giancarelli.
