Bernardo Germán de Llórente was a Spanish painter of the late-Baroque period. He was active in Seville where he was one of the followers of Murillo and made a name with his devotional paintings of the Virgin Mary. He also painted portraits and still lifes with trompe-l'œil effects.

The Historia silense, also called the Chronica silense or Historia seminense, and more properly Historia legionense, is a medieval Latin narrative history of the Iberian Peninsula from the time of the Visigoths (409–711) to the first years of the reign of Alfonso VI of León and Castile (1065–1073). Though originally intended as a gesta of Alfonso, it is primarily an original account of the reign of his father, Ferdinand I (1037–1065). For its earlier history it relies on the works of Isidore of Seville, Julian of Toledo, and the Vitas sanctorum patrum Emeritensium for the Visigothic period, the Chronicle of Alfonso III for the ninth century, the work of Sampiro for the tenth and early eleventh centuries, and the Chronicon of Pelayo of Oviedo for the eleventh century. The Historia along with Pelayo's Chronicon provide the only surviving versions of Sampiro's otherwise lost history.
Isidoro Arredondo (1655-1702), an eminent Spanish painter, was born at Colmenar de Oreja, in 1653. He was first a scholar of José García Hidalgo, but he afterwards studied under Francisco Rizi. He painted history with much success, and on the death of Rizi, in 1685, he was appointed painter to Charles II of Spain. One of his principal works was a large picture of the 'Incarnation,' which Palomino mentions as a very grand composition along with Santa Clara (1693) and Santa Gertrudis. He painted much in oil and fresco in the churches and palaces, and the ' 'Legend of Cupid and Psyche,' in the royal palace, is considered one of his best works. He died at Madrid in 1702.
Isidoro Cañones is a fictional character from Argentine comics, created by Dante Quinterno. He was created as a supporting character of Patoruzu, but got his own comic book afterwards, which is periodically reprinted. The character is often referenced as a "playboy", but only with the meaning of a man seeking leisure and a high-society lifestyle, without references to sex. The character has been used in a 2007 animated movie.
