Durban, nicknamed Durbs, is the third most populous city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town and the largest city in KwaZulu-Natal. Durban forms part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which includes neighbouring towns and has a population of about 3.44 million, making the combined municipality one of the largest cities on the Indian Ocean coast of the African continent. Amanzimtoti, locally nicknamed Toti, and officially renamed to eManzimtoti, is a coastal town just south of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The town is well known for its warm climate and numerous beaches, and is a popular tourist destination, particularly with surfers. The annual sardine run attracts many to the Toti beaches.
Isipingo is a town situated 19 kilometres (12 mi) south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and currently forms part of eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Richard Philip King (1811–1871) was an English trader and colonist at Port Natal, a British trading station in the region now known as KwaZulu-Natal. He is best known for a historic horseback ride in 1842, where he completed a journey of 960 kilometres (600 mi) in 10 days, to request help for the besieged British garrison at Port Natal. In honour of his heroic actions, a highschool in the suburb of Amanzimtoti, Durban was named after him- Kingsway High School.

Issued 23 years after Miller's death, Which Way Now was Isipingo's second album, following the release of Family Affair by nearly 30 years.

Featuring five original compositions, it was recorded during 1975–1977 in London, and was released in 2009 by the Canadian label Reel Recordings. On the album, which features several different lineups of the band, Miller is joined by saxophonist Mike Osborne, trumpeters Mark Charig and Mongezi Feza, trombonists Nick Evans, Malcolm Griffiths, and Paul Neiman, pianists Frank Roberts, Keith Tippett, and Stan Tracey, and drummer Louis Moholo. Issued 26 years after Miller's death, Full Steam Ahead was Isipingo's third album.
