Isis / Pig Destroyer is a split EP by the bands Pig Destroyer and Isis,released in 2000. [1] The EP,which features the two bands playing cover songs,was released on 7" vinyl.
Isis' interpretation of "Streetcleaner" was previously released on their Sawblade EP. Pig Destroyer's interpretations of "Exhume to Consume","Genital Grinder",and "Regurgitation of Giblets" were later included on their 38 Counts of Battery compilation.
Regurgitator are an Australian rock band from Brisbane,Queensland,formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals,guitar and keyboards;Ben Ely on bass guitar,keyboards and vocals;and Martin Lee on drums. Their debut studio album,Tu-Plang was released in May 1996;it was followed by Unit in November 1997 which was certified triple platinum. Godflesh are an English industrial metal band from Birmingham,England. The group formed in 1982 under the title Fall of Because but did not release any complete music until 1988 when Justin Broadrick and G. C. Green (bass) renamed the band and decided to use a drum machine for percussion. Melding heavy metal with industrial music and later with electronic music and dub,Godflesh's sound is widely regarded as a foundational influence on other industrial metal and post-metal acts and as significant to both experimental and extreme metal.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed is an American grindcore band formed in 1994 in Springfield,Massachusetts,United States. Its line-up has changed often over the years,with guitarist and drum programmer Scott Hull being the only continuous member. The current line-up includes vocalist Jay Randall,and Richard Johnson of Enemy Soil and Drugs of Faith,along with John Jarvis of Pig Destroyer and Fulgora on bass guitar. Agoraphobic Nosebleed is one of the most well-known drum-machine grindcore bands,and has influenced many drum-machine grindcore bands.
Pig Destroyer is an American grindcore band formed in 1997 in Alexandria,Virginia. The band was formed by vocalist J.R. Hayes,guitarist Scott Hull,and drummer John Evans. Throughout the band's earlier history,they were a three-piece group until sampler Blake Harrison joined in 2006,notably had no bassist until the inclusion of John Jarvis in 2013,and went through 2 past drummers with the role currently held by Adam Jarvis. Pig Destroyer is one of the most well-known grindcore bands in the genre due to Hayes's poetic lyrics,Hull's incorporation of thrash,punk,and doom influences in songwriting,and technical drum work.
Exhumed is an American deathgrind band from San Jose,California that is currently signed to Relapse Records and centered around guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey. The band has released eight albums and eight split 7-inch singles. They were formed in 1990,went on hiatus in 2005,and reformed in 2010.

The Red Sea is an EP by Isis. An expansion of the sound pioneered on their previous release Mosquito Control,this EP offers a slight evolution toward the direction Isis would begin to take with their first full length,Celestial. The three songs which make up the original EP are tied together with spoken word samples from the short-lived television series Hotel Room. The song "Ochre" contains a sample from the film Dead Man by Jim Jarmusch,and is a reading of a portion of William Blake's poem "Auguries of Innocence".
The Sawblade EP is a handmade CD-R made by Isis for their tour with Neurosis and Candiria,limited to 200 copies. It was sold at these shows at a limit of 15 per night,and the leftover copies were given to friends of the band as a year-end "thank you" gift. The vinyl run of this release was limited to 250 copies. As such,Aaron Turner doesn't consider this an 'official' Isis release,describing it as “more like a special artifact for us and the few converts we had at the time”.
Streetcleaner is the debut studio album by English industrial metal band Godflesh. It was released on 13 November 1989 through Earache Records and was reissued with a second disc of previously unreleased material on 21 June 2010. The album is widely acclaimed by critics and is often cited as a landmark release in industrial metal;though not the genre's first release,Streetcleaner helped define what industrial metal would become.

Aaron Turner is an American musician,singer,graphic artist,and founder of label Hydra Head Records. He is most widely known for his role as guitarist and vocalist for the post-metal bands SUMAC and Isis,while also participating in several other bands and projects such as Old Man Gloom,Lotus Eaters and Split Cranium,a collaboration with Jussi Lehtisalo of Finnish band Circle who toured with Isis in 2009.
Grindcrusher is a CD/LP released by Earache Records in 1989,showcasing nine of the label's bands. It contained a number of pioneer grindcore and death metal groups such as Napalm Death,Bolt Thrower,Morbid Angel,Carcass and Repulsion. This compilation was later rereleased in 1991 as Grindcrusher:the Ultimate Earache,augmented with 14 extra tracks by the likes of Entombed and Nocturnus.

Effortless Regurgitation of Bright Red Blood is the first full-length album by Regurgitate,released in 1994 by Lowland Records. This version with the original album cover had only one copy pressed,making it sought after by many collectors. It was reissued in 1999 by Relapse Records with a different and less graphic artwork.
Jeff Caxide is an American bassist,best known for his time with post-metal band Isis,of which he was a founding member and present until its dissolution in 2010. He was also a founding member of Red Sparowes,but left after the release of their first full-length. He also contributed to side-project Spylacopa. Prior to his time in Isis,he was a touring member of the Boston metalcore band 454 Big Block. He also helped found Connecticut-based metalcore band Cable,for whom he played bass. His stay with the band as a musician was brief,but he did return in order to produce 1999's Gutter Queen.

Mass &Volume is an EP by American grindcore band Pig Destroyer which was released on March 5,2013 as a digital release and October 14,2014 as a physical release through Relapse Records. The EP was written and recorded during the final day of the Phantom Limb sessions. It is dedicated to the memory of Pat Egan,a member of the Relapse Records family who died on February 18,2013. All proceeds from the sale of the record were donated to Egan's daughter's college fund.
