Abia State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The state is bordered to the northwest by Anambra State and to the northeast by the states of Enugu and Ebonyi, Imo State to the west, Cross River State to the east, Akwa Ibom State to the southeast, and Rivers State to the south. Abia is the only Southeastern state that has boundaries with the other four Southeastern states in Nigeria. It takes its name from the acronym for four of the state's most populated regions: Aba, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Afikpo. The state capital is Umuahia while the largest city and commercial centre is Aba.
The Nigerian National Assembly delegation from Abia comprises three Senators representing Abia Central, Abia South, and Abia North, and eight Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South, Bende, Isuikwato/Umunneochi, Arochukwu/Ohafia, Aba North/Aba South, Ukwa East/Ukwa West, Isiala Ngwa North/South and Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugbunagbo.
Isuikwuato is a local government area in Abia State in southeastern Nigeria. The name Isu-Ikwu-Ato translates from Igbo as 'three Isu families or lineage' and refers to the three lineages descended from the Isu people, in what is now a local government area. The three brothers are Imenyi who is the eldest, Oguduasaa, his younger brother from the same mother and Isuamawo the second oldest and first from the second wife. These three major clans which also harbour various communities in each of them make up the present day Isuikwuato. It has an estimated population of over 50,000 people. Isuikwuato has natural resources such as iron ore and kaolin. Oil lines flow through Isuikwuato and there have been cases of burst pipe which have had severe effects on the local economy and environment. The major cash crops are palm oil and cassava. The soil at Isuikwuato is loose and suffers from Erosion and this left some dangerous erosion sites in the area. They lack the needed government backing to build drainages around the area to guide the flow of water without further harming the already crying soil. Blessed with hills and highlands, the town will appreciate water infrastructures because water is an important but hard resource to get in Isuikwuato. Isuikwuato is also home to Abia State University Uturu.
Ikwuano is a Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in Isiala Oboro. The name 'Ikwuano' etymologically indicates that there are four different ancient kingdoms that make up the community called Ikwuano. These include Oboro, Ibere, Ariam/Usaka and Oloko.

The Orlu State bill, was a proposed bill sponsored by Ikenga Ugochinyere and 15 other legislators from the South-east region of Nigeria. The bill, which passed its 1st reading at the Nigerian House of Representatives on 5 June 2024, sought to carve out parts of Imo, Abia, and Anambra states to create a new state officially to be known as Orlu. Its proposed capital would be Orlu, currently the second-largest city in Imo State and Ideato, its Senatorial District.

He served as former Dean of the Faculties of Engineering in three Universities: University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Cross River University of Technology, Calabar, and Veritas University, Abuja, where he was the founding dean. Nzeako is the founding director, Computer Communications Centre, University of Nigeria, Nsukka and one of the founding fathers of Abia State, Nigeria, who served as secretary of the Charter of Equity Committee which created the name of the state. Nzeako is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE); and, American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Nzeako's publications have been cited 307 times according to the AD Scientific index ranking, and 308 times according to the google scholar index.
