Easy is an album recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and released by Motown Records on September 16, 1969 under the Tamla Records label. One song on the album, "Good Lovin' Ain't Easy To Come By", was a hit single and remains popular to this day. Terrell had been ill, suffering from complications caused by a brain tumor, since the fall of 1967. Marvin Gaye later claimed that as a result, most of the female vocals on this album were performed by Valerie Simpson, who served as co-songwriter and co-producer for the LP with her boyfriend and future husband Nickolas Ashford.

The Walker Brothers were an American pop group of the 1960s and 1970s which included Noel Scott Engel, John Walker and Gary Leeds. After moving to Britain in 1965, they had a number of top-10 albums and singles there, including the No. 1 hits "Make It Easy on Yourself" and "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)", both of which also made the US top 20 and Canadian top 2. Between the two was the lesser US hit "My Ship is Coming In", another major hit in Britain, where it reached No. 3 in the chart. The trio split up in 1968, but reunited in the mid- to late 1970s and scored a final top-10 UK hit with "No Regrets".

The album fared much better on the Billboard R&B charts, peaking at 21.

The song was introduced to the public in 1983, along with a couple of other hits that went to number 1, like the song "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy". Soon after it was released, "He's a Heartache" went to the number 1 spot. The song was one of many Countrypolitan songs Fricke recorded and became successful with during her career.

The album produced the singles "Nobody's Got It All" which peaked at 55 on the country charts and "You Ain't Hurt Nothin' Yet", which peaked at 56. Also included on the album was a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 1982 song Atlantic City from his album Nebraska.
