Jabalpur Development Authority is a statutory organization under the supervision of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, India which was established after the state government of Madhya Pradesh recognized the urgent need to encourage public-private partnership in the housing sector by forming joint ventures.
Madhya Pradesh is a state in central India. Its capital is Bhopal, and the largest city is Indore, with Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain and Sagar being the other major cities. Nicknamed the "Heart of India" due to its geographical location, Madhya Pradesh is the second largest Indian state by area and the fifth largest state by population with over 75 million residents. It borders the states of Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, Maharashtra to the south, Gujarat to the west, and Rajasthan to the northwest. Its total area is 308,252 km2. Before 2000, when Chhattisgarh was a part of Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh was the largest state in India and the distance between the two furthest points inside the state, Singoli and Konta, was 1500 km. Konta is presently in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh state.

Jabalpur Development Authority was established and incorporated on 11 January 1980 with an aim of well planned and balanced development of Jabalpur city. The authority is structured under the town and country planning act 1973 of MP State Govt. and it works under the administration of Housing and Development Ministry of MP Govt.
The symbol of urbanization, which is directly perceived by common people, is "the development of land in an organized manner". The common people do the investment in this activity. JDA provides a platform for people to participate in the development. JDA sells the plots in the scheme.
The function of JDA is to control and regulate the development. If the private developers make plans for any institutional, residential or any other area, then they are required to be approved by JDA. If the plan does not meet the requirement of existing proposal of the master plan then it is not given the approval. In case if the matter is not solved by the JDA then it goes to the TCPO.
The Government of Madhya Pradesh and Jabalpur Development Authority have been vested with the task of developing housing and other civic amenity infrastructures at par with international standards. Jabalpur Development Authority has been a major factor in transformation of city's outlook with its amazing residential projects. With an aim to convert the rustic look of the city to an urban metro, the State Government of Madhya Pradesh founded the Development Authority of Jabalpur. Along with undertaking construction of residential societies and auctioning of plots, Jabalpur Development Authority also builds community centers, shopping areas and office spaces.

A major portion of the dwelling units developed by it are meant for EWS, LIG, and MIG categories. The board has so far constructed many housing units belonging to EWS/LIG/MIG/HIG groups for the public on ownership bases. It has also sold developed plots to the public for making houses of their own.

Gandhi Nagar is one of the two earliest planned housing colonies in Kadavanthra region of Kochi city in the state of Kerala, India. It was developed by the end of the 1970s by Greater Cochin Development Authority, the statutory body overseeing the development of Kochi. What is now Gandhi Nagar was, in the 1970s, abandoned paddy fields, and wet lands. The land was developed by filling with earth from the hills of Kakkanad, and a planned housing colony was developed.
Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), formerly Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), is the urban planning agency of the state of Haryana in India except Gurugram and Faridabad which has Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority respectively. It was established in 1977. The Minister of Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana is the Chairman of the authority. The headquarter of the authority is located in Panchkula, Haryana.
MDDA was established in 1984 with the objective of planning and development of the city. Mussoorie Dehradun Development area includes Dehradun Urban Agglomeration, Mussoorie Municipal area and its surrounding 185 Revenue Villages of Dehradun District.
The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015 with the focus to establish infrastructure that could ensure adequate robust sewage networks and water supply for urban transformation by implementing urban revival projects. Rajasthan was the first state in the country to submit State Annual Action Plan under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The scheme Housing for All by 2022 and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) were launched on the same day. The scheme is dependent with public private partnership(PPP) model. If required, various other schemes like Swachh Bharat Mission, Housing for All 2022, along with the local state schemes like that related to water supply and sewerage and other infrastructure related schemes can be linked to AMRUT.

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has allotted 1,200 acres for the development of an industrial area on the Dewas-Ujjain Road near Narwar village. Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Japan International Cooperation Agency will lend funds for the project.
