Jacopino Scipioni (c.1470 – 1532) was an Italian painter of the late 15th century active in Bergamo.
Bergamo is a city in the alpine Lombardy region of northern Italy, approximately 40 km (25 mi) northeast of Milan, and about 30 km (19 mi) from Switzerland, the alpine lakes Como and Iseo and 70 km (43 mi) from Garda and Maggiore. The Bergamo Alps begin immediately north of the city.
He was born in Averara, but few details are known of his life. He began painting in the studio of his brother Battista Scipioni. In 1492, the painted the ceiling of the sacristy of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo. With Jacopino painting figures. In 1494, he frescoed the church, now razed, of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Bergamo, with the story of St Francis of Assisi. He also worked for the church of San Stefano, and the chapel of San Marco in the convent of Sant'Agostino, and the church of San Domenico al Fortino. [1] [2]

Born in Milan, he was a pupil of the painter Antonio Busca. Alessandro Magnasco was one of his pupils along with Pietro Maggi and Giuseppe Rivola. Ticozzi claims he trained, along with Federigo Bianchi, with Carlo Francesco Nuvolone. Along with Bianchi, he painted the cupola of Sant'Alessandro Martire in Milan. Abbiati also painted a St. John preaching in the Wilderness for a church in Saronno.
