The Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) is a national trade union centre in Jamaica. It is affiliated to the International Trade Union Confederation.

Origins

The JCTU emerged from the Joint Trade Unions Research Development Centre (JTURDC) which was founded on 11 September 1980 by the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union, the National Workers Union, the Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers and the Trade Union Congress.

The Japanese Trade Union Confederation (JTUC), commonly known as RENGO, is the largest national trade union center in Japan, with over six million members as of 2011. It was founded in 1989 as a result of the merger of the Japan Confederation of Labor (Dōmei), the Federation of Independent Unions and the National Federation Of Industrial Organisations (Shinsanbetsu). In 1990, the General Council of Trade Unions of Japan (Sohyo) also joined RENGO.

The Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC) is a trade union organisation in Fiji that was founded in 1952 under the leadership of Pandit Ami Chandra as the Fiji Industrial Workers Congress (FIWC). As the FIWC the organisation was the third federation in Oceania, after the Australian Council of Trade Unions and the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, to join the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. In 1975 the FTUC's membership was 25,000. The FTUC is affiliated to the International Trade Union Confederation. It has a close relationship with the Fiji Labour Party. The FTUC has 30 trade union affiliates, covering the public and private sectors. The General Workers Central, also known as the General Workers Confederation and the General Confederation of Labor, is a national trade union center in Honduras. It is traditionally associated with the National Party of Honduras.

Trade unions in Saint Lucia first emerged in the 1930s. The St Lucia Teachers' Association was established in 1934 as a professional organisation. Following the formalisation of collective bargaining on the island in 1938, the Saint Lucia Workers' Co-operative Union was founded in 1939.
