James Collins is a Canadian songwriter, actor and singer.
Collins moved to Toronto to pursue a film and music career. As a songwriter, Collins has co-written, with Vancouver-based songwriter Dave Pickell, over 20 Top 40 hits in Canada.
As a singer, Collins has had three Top 40 hits – "Do You Mind If We Talk About Bill", which peaked at Number 31 on the Canadian national BDS Hot Adult Contemporary chart and "Missing You at Christmas (That's All)", peaking at number 17 on the Canadian national BDS AC chart. Two years earlier the original version of "Missing You at Christmas (That's All)" peaked Top 30 nationally. Collins' ballad "Good Enough (To Love)" also peaked at number two on Quebec's provincial ADISQ Le Palmares Top 25 Pop Adult chart. "Good Enough (To Love)" sat at the number two position for four weeks, behind the hit "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter.[ citation needed ]
In 2003, he and Pickell co-wrote American Idol contestant Vanessa Olivarez's first single "The One", which reached number ten on the Nielsen SoundScan Canadian Singles Sales chart. [1] Collins collaborated with American Idol Season 3 finalist Jon Peter Lewis on the song "It's Christmas." The song peaked at Number 13 on the national Pop Adult chart (BDS) and was featured on the Canadian gold selling Now Christmas 2.[ citation needed ]
In 2006 Sony-BMG placed Collins' Christmas song, "Missing You at Christmas (That's All)", and a Christmas song he wrote with Melissa Manchester, "My Christmas Song For You" on their Platinum Christmas 3 compilation.
Collins achieved a Number 1 SOCAN award (with Dave Pickell) for story song, "Cyndi Lauper Said No." The song reached No. 1 on Quebec's Top 25 Pop/Rock chart for 5 weeks in 2009.[ citation needed ]
"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the prison film Unchained (1955), hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack. It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers in 1965. According to the song's publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of "Unchained Melody" have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages.
Vanessa Denae Olivarez is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She is the vocalist, songwriter, and autoharpist for the country bands Granville Automatic and Mama's Blue Dress, has written songs for the country duo Sugarland, and was in the Top 12 of the second season of the television series American Idol in 2003.

Joseph Lewis Thomas, known mononymously as Joe, is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. He signed to Polygram Records in 1992, and rose to prominence after releasing his debut album Everything the following year. He followed it with a series of successful albums under Jive Records, including All That I Am (1997), the international bestseller My Name Is Joe (2000) as well as the multi-certified albums Better Days (2001) and And Then... (2003). Several songs from these albums became hit singles on the pop and R&B record charts, including the number-one hit "Stutter", the top ten entries "All the Things ", "Don't Wanna Be a Player", and "I Wanna Know" as well as his collaborations "Faded Pictures", "Thank God I Found You" and "Still Not a Player".
"Big Yellow Taxi" is a song written, composed, and originally recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell in 1970, and originally released on her album Ladies of the Canyon. It was a hit in her native Canada as well as Australia and the UK. It only reached No. 67 in the US in 1970, but was later a bigger hit there for her in a live version released in 1974, which peaked at No. 24. Charting versions have also been recorded by the Neighborhood, and most notably by Amy Grant in 1994 and Counting Crows in 2002. The song was also sampled in Janet Jackson's "Got 'til It's Gone" (1997).
"When I Fall in Love" is a popular song, written by Victor Young (music) and Edward Heyman (lyrics). It was introduced in Howard Hughes' last film One Minute to Zero as the instrumental titled "Theme from One Minute to Zero". Jeri Southern sang on the first vocal recording released in April 1952 with the song's composer, Victor Young, handling the arranging and conducting duties. The song has become a standard, with many artists recording it; the first hit version was sung by Doris Day released in July 1952.

"Pour que tu m'aimes encore" was the 4th biggest hit of the 1990s in France and has sold over four million copies worldwide.
"River" is a song by Canadian singer songwriter Joni Mitchell, from her 1971 album Blue. Written on piano, it has become a standard for artists in many music styles, and has become popular as Christmas music. Although never released as a single, "River" holds second place among Mitchell's songs most recorded by other artists. In 2021, it was ranked at No. 247 on Rolling Stone's "Top 500 Best Songs of All Time".
"I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" is a Christmas song recorded by British glam rock band Wizzard. It was first released in December 1973 and, as with most Wizzard songs, was written and produced by the band's frontman Roy Wood—formerly of The Move and a founding member of Electric Light Orchestra. Despite the song's strong, long-lasting popularity, it has reached no higher than number four on the UK Singles Chart, a position it occupied for four consecutive weeks from December 1973 to January 1974. The song was beaten to the 1973 Christmas Number 1 spot by Slade's "Merry Xmas Everybody", which remained at the top of the charts for five weeks, from December 1973 to January 1974.

"It Doesn't Matter Anymore" reached number 13 as a posthumous hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1959, shortly after Holly was killed in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. The single was a two-sided hit, backed with "Raining in My Heart". "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" was Holly's last US Top 20 hit and featured the orchestral backing of Dick Jacobs. It was also successful in the United Kingdom, where it became the country's first posthumous number 1 hit.

"Missing You" is a song written and recorded by singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg in 1981 at the Bennett House studios in Franklin, Tennessee with producer and Elvis Presley bassist Norbert Putnam and drummer Joe Vitale who was known for his work providing a Latin feel to recordings with Stephen Stills Manassas Band and on CSN's song Dark Star. Previously unreleased, Missing You was included on his Greatest Hits LP and released simultaneously.
