Jamil Rostami, born on May 8, 1970 in Sanandaj, is a highly acclaimed Iranian film director, writer, and producer. His remarkable film "Requiem of Snow (2005)" and the captivating historical masterpiece "Jani Gal (2007)" were both recognized with nominations for the prestigious Oscar Academy Awards, representing the excellence of Iraqi cinema. Additionally, Rostami's other works have garnered great acclaim and have been successfully showcased at various international film festivals.

Crystal Simorgh as the best director for the movie "Requiem of Snow (2005)" in the Asian Cinema Competition section of the 23rd Fajr Festival is among the awards of this director.

In Jamil Rostami's film career, he directed the movie "Cheshm (2011)"  with prominent actors of Iranian cinema; Mehdi Ahmadi, Ladan Mostofi, Afsane Pakrou and Siavash Cheraghipour and the movie "Bitar (2018)" with the participation of Mehdi Pakdel, Mahia Dehghani and a group of actors from Iraqi and Iranian Kurdistan.

His only short film "Trouble of being a boy" which has received 24 domestic and foreign awards, is considered one of the most successful short films in Iranian cinema.

Jamil Rostami has made significant contributions to the art of cinema in Kurdish regions, including Iranian Kurdistan, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. Rostami is considered a pioneer and successful artist in Kurdish film making.

Jani Gal is a 2007 Kurdish-language Kurdish drama film directed by Jamil Rostami, who co-wrote the screenplay with Khosro Sina and also served as the producer, based on Ibrahim Ahmad's best-selling 1972 novel of the same name. The film stars Nzar Salami, Renas Wrya, and Abdul Hamajwan. The story, set in the 1940s to 1950s of Kurdistan, chronicles Jwamer after his release from prison and his search for his wife and son. It was Iraq's submission to the 80th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee.

The ancient monuments of Naqsh-e Rustam and The Book of Kings (Shahnameh) narrate all about Rostam The Invincible. Both Rostam and Rostami are popular in many regions of the Middle East, Russia and might be found in Asia.
