Jean-Marie Pfaff is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper who spent most of his professional career with Beveren and Bayern Munich. Erwin Vandenbergh is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a forward. Between 1979 and 1991, he finished six times topscorer of the Belgian First Division, with three clubs. In 1980, he was European topscorer with 39 goals out of 34 games. As a Belgium national team regular, Vandenbergh scored a memorable victory goal against Argentina in the opening game of the 1982 World Cup in Spain.

Standard Basketball Club Liège was a Belgian professional basketball club that was based in Liège, Belgium. The club was also known as Standard Golden Ball Liège, for sponsorship reasons. It was the senior men's basketball department of the multi-sports club Royal Standard de Liège. The team was dissolved in 1985.
Edward Murphy is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 6'4" shooting guard-small forward. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, he played basketball at Marist High School. He opted in 1974 for the academic team of Merrimack College, where he stayed until 1978, twice finishing as NCAA II runner-up. Top scorer of the Merrimack team, Murphy was drafted in 1978 by the Atlanta Hawks, in the 8th round. He never played in the NBA, instead landing in Europe. He first played the Netherlands in the B.O.B. Rotterdam (1978–79) and then in Belgium with RC Mechelen with which he led the team to the Belgian title.
Boule d'Or was a Belgian professional cycling team that existed from 1979 to 1983. Its main sponsor was cigarette brand Boule d'Or.
