Slovenia Country in Central Europe

Slovenia, officially the Republic of Slovenia, is a country in Central Europe. It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Croatia to the southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the southwest. Slovenia is mostly mountainous and forested, covers 20,271 square kilometres (7,827 sq mi), and has a population of 2.1 million. Slovenes constitute over 80% of the country's population. In the minds of many foreigners, Slovenian folk music means a form of polka that is still popular today, especially among expatriates and their descendants. However, there are many styles of Slovenian folk music beyond polka and waltz. Kolo, lender, štajeriš, mafrine and šaltin are a few of the traditional music styles and dances.

Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Love Symphony" written by Andrej Babić and Aleksandar Valenčić. The song was performed by Quartissimo feat. Martina. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija organised the national final EMA 2009 in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2009 contest in Moscow, Russia. The national final consisted of a semi-final and a final where "Love Symphony" performed by Quartissimo feat. Martina was eventually selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a three-member jury panel and a public vote.

Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Round and Round" written by Raay, Tinkara Kovač, Hannah Mancini and Tina Piš. The song was performed by Tinkara Kovač. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija organised the national final EMA 2014 in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. Seven entries competed in the national final where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, the top two entries were selected by a three-member jury panel. In the second round, "Round and Round" performed by Tinkara Kovač was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote.

It publishes weekly charts once a week, every Sunday. Chart contain data generated by the SloTop50 system according to any song played during the period starting the previous Monday morning at time 00:00:00 and ending Sunday night at 23:59:59.

Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel with the song "Sebi" written and performed by Zala Kralj and Gašper Šantl, who were selected to represent Slovenia in the 2019 contest via the national final EMA 2019 organised by Radiotelevizija Slovenija. The national final took place on 16 February 2019, with the results determined by a national televote across Slovenia.

Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands with the song "Amen" written by Ana Soklič, Bojan Simončič, Žiga Pirnat and Charlie Mason. The song was performed by Ana Soklič, who was internally selected by the Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTVSLO) to represent Slovenia in the 2021 contest, having previously been selected to represent Slovenia in 2020 with the song "Voda", before its eventual cancellation due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Ana Soklič was revealed to be Slovenia's representative on 16 May 2020, with the song "Amen" being released as the Slovenian entry on 27 February 2021.
