The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern and the Mid-Atlantic United States. It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, and in football, in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

The Latvia men's national basketball team represents Latvia in international basketball. They are organized and run by the Latvian Basketball Association. Latvia has reached the European Basketball Championship 15 times, with their ultimate success occurring during the inter-war period, when they became the first team to win the tournament in 1935. Four years later, they had another impressive run to come away with the silver in 1939. Although after 1939, Latvia were forced to suspend their national team operations, due to the Occupation of the Baltic states during World War II. Latvia regained independence in 1991, with their national team taking part in international competition once again a year later.

The 1958 FIBA European Champions Cup was the inaugural season of the European top-tier level professional basketball club competition FIBA European Champions Cup. It was won by Rīgas ASK, after they won both EuroLeague Finals games against Academic. Previously, they had not played the semifinals, as Real Madrid was not allowed to travel to Soviet Riga by the Francoist authorities. The first game was held on February 22, 1958, in Brussels, Belgium, where Belgian League champion Royal IV, defeated the Luxembourger League champions, Etzella Ettelbruck, by a score of 82–43. The most notable contributors to Riga's first title included center Jānis Krūmiņš and head coach Alexander Gomelsky.
Derrick Kent Ramsey was Kentucky Secretary of Education and Workforce Development in 2018 and 2019, under Governor Matt Bevin, after serving as secretary of the Labor Cabinet from 2015 to 2018. He served as Deputy Secretary of Commerce under another Republican governor, Ernie Fletcher, from 2003 to 2007. Bevin appointed him to the Board of Trustees of University of Kentucky on July 25, 2017. He served until 2023. He was a senior fellow at The Urban Institute, then a senior fellow at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, leading projects for the chancellor and president. In January 2024, Ramsey became special assistant to KCTCS President Ryan Quarles for strategic partnerships. Quarles had placed second in the 2023 Republican primary for governor.
Janis is a 1974 Canadian-American documentary film about the rock singer Janis Joplin. The film was directed by Howard Alk with much assistance from Albert Grossman, Joplin's manager. It was available on videocassette in the United States in the 1980s and 1990s, but DVD versions have been released only in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. In late 2011, it was added to Hulu's movie collection for online viewing. Part of the film soundtrack is included on the 1975 album Janis.
Harlingen High School is a public high school located in Harlingen, Texas, United States. It is part of the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District and was the first of five HCISD high schools established. HHS was the sole high school from its establishment in 1913 to 1993 when the school split and Harlingen High School South was formed. For the 2021-2022 school year, the school was given a "B" by the Texas Education Agency.
Jani Viander is a Finnish former football goalkeeper who currently works as the Lead Academy Goalkeeper Coach at Premier League side Brentford. In a long career as a player, Viander played professionally in Finland, Belgium, England, Denmark, Israel and Cyprus. He won 13 caps for Finland at international level.

Charles "Charlie Red" Hardnett was an American basketball player who played three seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 6' 8" power forward played for Carver High School Atlanta. He played college basketball for Grambling State University from 1959 to 1963. Hardnett earned All-America honors in 1962. He was also the NAIA Basketball Tournament MVP in 1961. Hardnett was drafted in the third round of the 1962 NBA draft by the St. Louis Hawks. He played for the Chicago Zephyrs / Baltimore Bullets (NBA) from 1962 to 1965. Hardnett also coached at the college level. He coached at Coppin State College (Baltimore) from 1970 to 1974, and at Morris Brown College (Atlanta) from 1974 to 1980.

Falaën Castle is a château-ferme, or fortified farmhouse, in the village of Falaën, municipality of Onhaye, province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium. The castle was built between 1670 and 1673 by the Polchet Family to protect themselves from traveling bands of brigands. In the 18th century it was passed to Coppin family. It was then held for another two centuries until being sold to the Delhaye Family, sometime during the 20th century.
Physical Education Complex is a 4,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. It was built in 2009 and became home to the Coppin State University men's basketball team in the 2009–2010 season. The women's basketball team and women's volleyball team also play at the facility. The arena replaced the Coppin Center.
The Coppin State Eagles represent Coppin State University, a historically African-American institution in Baltimore, in NCAA Division I sports as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Gold and Blue are represented by fourteen (14) teams, including men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, women's bowling, softball, volleyball, baseball, and both women's and men's indoor and outdoor track and field. They do not have a football team.
The Coppin State Eagles men's basketball team represents Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The school's team currently competes in the NCAA Division I in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Before joining NCAA Division I, the Eagles were the 1976 NAIA National Champions.

The 2014 Latvian Higher League was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Latvia. FK Ventspils are the defending champions. The season started on 21 March 2014. Initially, Skonto Riga and Daugava Daugavpils, the second and third teams from the previous season, were denied a license to participate and the league began with eight clubs. However, their appeals against this were successful and the league was restored to ten clubs.
