The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team based in Minneapolis. The Twins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. The team is named after the Twin Cities moniker for the two adjacent cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
Kirby Puckett was an American professional baseball player. He played his entire 12-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career for the Minnesota Twins (1984–1995). Puckett was instrumental in helping the Twins to win World Series championships in 1987 and 1991. Puckett generally played center field,although he was shifted to right field later in his career.

Rodney Cline Carew is a Panamanian-American former professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a first baseman,second baseman and designated hitter from 1967 to 1985 for the Minnesota Twins and the California Angels. The most accomplished contact hitter in Twins history,he won the 1977 AL Most Valuable Player Award,setting a Twins record with a .388 batting average. Carew appeared in 18 straight All-Star Games and led the AL in hits three times,with his 239 hits in 1977 being the twelfth most in a season at the time. He won seven AL batting titles,the second most AL batting titles in history behind Ty Cobb,and on July 12,2016,the AL batting title was renamed to the Rod Carew American League batting title.

Nicholas Paul Punto is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies,Minnesota Twins,St. Louis Cardinals,Boston Red Sox,Los Angeles Dodgers,and Oakland Athletics. With the Cardinals,he won the 2011 World Series over the Texas Rangers. He has also played for the Italian national baseball team in the World Baseball Classic.
Zoilo Casanova Versalles Rodriguez,nicknamed "Zorro",was a Cuban professional baseball player. He played as a shortstop in Major League Baseball,most notably for the Minnesota Twins/Washington Senators. He was the catalyst who led the 1965 Twins to their first World Series after moving from Washington to Minnesota. The same year he also won the American League Most Valuable Player award.
William Frederick Gardner was an American professional baseball player,coach,and manager. During his ten-season active career in the major leagues,Gardner was a second baseman for the New York Giants,Baltimore Orioles,Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins,New York Yankees,and Boston Red Sox. His only significant time on any team was with Baltimore,where he spent four consecutive full seasons from 1956 to 1959. He threw and batted right-handed,stood 6 feet (1.83 m) tall and weighed 170 pounds (77 kg). After retiring as a player,he spent over 20 years as a coach or manager,and managed the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals during the 1980s.
Ronald Bryan Coomer,nicknamed "Coom Dawg",is an American former first baseman and third baseman in Major League Baseball and the current color analyst and play-by-play broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs radio on WSCR 670 AM. Coomer had a nine-year major league career from 1995 to 2003 playing for the Minnesota Twins,New York Yankees,Chicago Cubs,and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was elected to the American League All-Star team in 1999 while with the Twins.
Philip Joseph Hughes is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees,Minnesota Twins,and San Diego Padres during a career that spanned from 2007 through 2018. Hughes stands 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) tall and weighs 240 pounds (110 kg). He was the Yankees' first-round pick in the 2004 MLB draft.

It was the first time the Twins lost more than 100 games since moving to Minnesota. This feat of more than 100 losses would be matched in 2016 and was surpassed by one game as that record was 59-103.

He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics and in international competition for the Australia national baseball team. Hughes currently has the most career home runs in the Australian Baseball League upon his retirement following the 2019–20 Australian Baseball League season with 60.
JoséOrlando Berríos,nicknamed "La Makina",is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Minnesota Twins,who selected him in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft.
The 2014 Minnesota Twins season was the 54th season for the franchise in Minnesota,and the 114th overall in the American League. They were the host team for the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. They finished fifth in the American League Central with a 70–92 record.
The 2015 Minnesota Twins season was the 55th season for the franchise in the Twin Cities of Minnesota,their sixth season at Target Field and the 115th overall in the American League. The team finished second in the American League Central with an 83–79 record,their best overall result since the 2010 season,which was the last year they made the playoffs. The team remained in the running for a wild card berth in the American League playoffs until losing Game 161. They would eventually win a wild card berth two years later,in 2017. In between,however,the team lost 103 games.
