Jim Smith (born June 5, 1934) is a college basketball head coach. As the head coach of Saint John's University in Minnesota, he has compiled 770 wins. Smith is the winningest head coach in Minnesota college basketball history, and is second among all Division III coaches in wins. Smith recorded his 700th win on November 21, 2009, against Division II school Minnesota-State Moorhead
Over his 49-year career, Smith has led his Basketball teams to seven MIAC titles, five MIAC playoff titles, nine trips to the NAIA tournament and eight trips to the NCAA Division III playoffs. [1]

John Gagliardi was an American football coach. He was the head football coach at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, from 1953 until 2012. From 1949 to 1952, he was the head football coach at Carroll College in Helena, Montana. With a career record of 489–138–11, Gagliardi has the most wins of any coach in college football history. His Saint John's Johnnies teams won four national titles: the NAIA Football National Championship in 1963 and 1965, and the NCAA Division III Football Championship in 1976 and 2003. Gagliardi was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
James A. Calhoun is a retired college basketball coach. He is best known for his tenure as head coach of the University of Connecticut (UConn) men's basketball team. His teams won three NCAA national championships, played in four Final Fours, won the 1988 NIT title, and won seven Big East tournament championships. With his team's 2011 NCAA title win, the 68-year-old Calhoun became the oldest coach to win a Division I men's basketball title. He won his 800th game in 2009 and finished his NCAA Division I career with 873 victories, ranking 11th all time as of February 2019. From 2018–21, he served as head coach of the University of Saint Joseph men's basketball team. Calhoun is one of only six coaches in NCAA Division I history to win three or more championships, and he is widely considered one of the greatest coaches of all time. In 2005, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

James Monroe Christopherson is an American football player and coach. He played professional football for the Minnesota Vikings in 1962 and was the head coach at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota from 1969 to 2000. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in July 2007.

From 1953 through November 19, 2012, collegiate hall-of-fame coach John Gagliardi coached the Johnnies, posting a 489–138–11 record over 59 years. Gagliardi's 489 wins are the most all-time for any football coach across all divisions. The current coach is Gary Fasching, who was named to the position on December 28, 2012.
Donald Roberts was an American college men's ice hockey coach. From 1964 to 1997, he was the head hockey coach at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. At the time of his retirement in 1996, he was the winningest hockey coach in NCAA Division III history. He received the John MacInnes Award from the American Hockey Coaches Association in 1993 and the Hobey Baker Legends of College Hockey Award in 2009. As of 2010, he ranks 15th all-time among college men's ice hockey coaches with 532 wins.
The Carleton Knights football team represents Carleton College in college football at the NCAA Division III level. The program was started in 1883 and was very successful through the early 1960s, winning over 20 conference championships from 1895 to 1956.

David W. Boots is an American retired basketball coach. He was the former head coach of the University of South Dakota men's basketball team. Boots played at Division III Augsburg College and later coached there. He was named head coach of South Dakota in 1988. Boots retired as head coach in September 2013. He finished as the winningest coach in school history with a record of 503–235.

Christopher R. Olean is a baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the St. Thomas (MN) Tommies. He played college baseball at St. Thomas (MN) where he played for head coach Dennis Denning from 1996 to 1999 before playing professionally from 1999 to 2001.

The 2022 Saint John's Johnnies football team represented Saint John's University as members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) during the 2022 NCAA Division III football season. Led by ninth-year head coach Gary Fasching, the Johnnies compiled an overall record of 10–2 with a mark of 7–1 in conference play, winning the MIAC Northwoods Division title. Saint John's beat the Bethel Royal in the MIAC Championship Game to win the conference title and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Football Championship playoffs. There, the Johnnies defeated the Northwestern Eagles in the first round before losing to the Wartburg Knights in the second round. The team played home games at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville, Minnesota.
