Jippi Comics is a Norwegian comics publisher, best known for their ongoing anthology "Forresten", and publishing the work of now famous Jason long before his international breakthrough.
Started and run by the comic creators themselves, Jippi has been a catalyst in the Norwegian comics scene since the early 1990s, giving unknown artists a chance to show off their work to each other and the general public. Among the hundreds of artists published by Jippi are: Jens Styve, Ronny Haugeland, Øystein Runde, Tor Ærlig, Martin Ernstsen, Inga Sætre, Jason, Sigbjørn Lilleeng, Roy Søbstad, Lene Ask, Odd Henning Skyllingstad, Kristian Hammerstad and Henry Bronken.
Ligne claire is a style of drawing created and pioneered by Hergé, the Belgian creator of The Adventures of Tintin. It uses clear strong lines sometimes of varied width and no hatching, while contrast is downplayed as well. Cast shadows are often illuminated, and the style often features strong colours and a combination of cartoonish characters against a realistic background. The name was coined by Joost Swarte in 1977.
Detective Comics is an American comic book series published by Detective Comics, later shortened to DC Comics. The first volume, published from 1937 to 2011, is best known for introducing the superhero Batman in Detective Comics #27.
Øystein Runde is a Norwegian comics writer and comics artist. Runde, Kristopher Schau and Frode Hanssen published the weekly science/humor podcast 80% from 2019 to 2020, after its end in october 2020 when Schau moved to Drammen, Runde started an english-language science podcast called Wunderdog, where he talks to "the scientists behind the ideas". Guests so far have been professor Philip Lubin who invented the concept for Stephen Hawking and Yuri Milners "Breakthrough starshot" laser, professor Robin Hanson who invented the term "The Great Filter" and wrote Age of Em about mind uploads, doctor Cynthia Phillips from NASA, staff scientist for the Europa Clipper project.
James Bond's success after the start of the film franchise in 1962 spawned a number of comic books around the world. Initially, these were adaptations of various movies. In the late 1980s and continuing through to the mid-1990s, however, a series of original stories were also published. After a hiatus in 1996, the Bond comic book publishing license was picked up again and made a revival debut in 2015. The comics were published by various past and present companies including DC Comics, Marvel, Eclipse Comics, Dark Horse and Dynamite Entertainment.

The Xeric Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation based in Northampton, Massachusetts, which for twenty years awarded self-publishing grants to comic book creators, as well as qualified charitable and nonprofit organizations. The Xeric Foundation was established by Peter Laird, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Cameron Stewart is a Canadian comic book creator, who has worked for DC Comics and other publishers. He is known for illustrating Catwoman and co-writing Batgirl, and for illustrating several collaborations with writer Grant Morrison. His work has been nominated and won several comics industry awards, including Eisner and Shuster Awards for his self-published mystery web comic Sin Titulo, an Eisner nomination for The Other Side, and nominations for Eagle and Harvey Awards. In 2020, he was the subject of numerous sexual misconduct accusations involving teenagers and young women.
Bjarne Arnstein Brøndbo is the vocalist and the front figure in the Norwegian rock group D.D.E. since the start in 1992. Brøndbo has previously played in the bands Humanic (1978–1985) and After Dark (1984–1991). He is the brother of drummer Eskil Brøndbo and the cousin of the Electronica musician Rune "Sternklang" Brøndbo.
The Sproing Award is awarded by Norsk Tegneserieforum (NTF), an organisation to promote interest and understanding for comics in Norway. Since 1987, the award has been presented for the Best Norwegian Strips, a comic strip or comic book by a Norwegian, and Best Translated Strips, an international comic strip/comic book translated into Norwegian. Since 2003, there has also been awarded a Sproing for Best Comics Debut.
