John McKechnie is an American college lacrosse and football coach. In 2009, he became the first men's lacrosse coach at Bard College. He previously coached the men's lacrosse teams at Amherst College and the College of Wooster. While at Amherst, McKechnie also served as an assistant football coach under Jim Ostendarp and as the head football coach during the 1992 season. He was named the 1987 New England Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year for leading Amherst to the Division III New England ECAC championship.

Biography

McKechnie graduated from Amherst College in 1977. [1] After college, he embarked upon his coaching career as a member of the Amherst football and basketball staffs. [1] In 1984, the school named him the head men's lacrosse coach. [1] In 1987, he led the team to the New England Eastern College Athletic Conference championship, and the New England Lacrosse Coaches Association named him the Coach of the Year. [1] In 1991, McKechnie was the assistant coach to Connecticut College head coach Fran Shields during the Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game. [2]

In February 1992, Amherst promoted McKechnie from the position of associate head football coach to co-head coach alongside Jim Ostendarp. [3] In March 1992, he took over as head coach when Ostendarp resigned after 33 years at the program. [4] After Amherst amassed a 08 record in the 1992 season, he resigned on November 24, 1992. [5]

From 1995 to 2000, he coached the lacrosse team at the College of Wooster. [1] During that time, he served on the Division III All-American Committee and the National Ranking Committee. [1] In 2009, Bard College hired McKechnie as its first ever men's lacrosse coach. [1] During his first season in 2010, Bard finished winless with a 011 record. [6]

UMBC Retrievers mens lacrosse

The UMBC Retrievers men's lacrosse team represents the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse competition. The Retrievers play their home games at UMBC Stadium, located in Baltimore, Maryland with a capacity of 4,500 spectators. UMBC competes as a member of the America East Conference. The program has an all-time record of 373-344 including pre-NCAA results.

James Berkman is an American college lacrosse coach. He has served as the head coach at Salisbury University since 1989, after spending one season as the head coach at State University of New York at Potsdam in 1985. Salisbury has won 12 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships and 19 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) titles during his tenure with the Sea Gulls.He has been named the Division III coach of the year four times and the CAC Coach of the Year ten times.

Scott Marr is an American lacrosse coach. He is currently the head coach for the University at Albany Great Danes men's lacrosse team. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland and University of Delaware. Marr led the Great Danes to the school's first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. In 2007, Albany won its first NCAA tournament game, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association named Marr the Coach of the Year.

The Hobart Statesmen are composed of 11 teams representing Hobart and William Smith Colleges in intercollegiate athletics, including men's basketball, cross country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, rowing, sailing, soccer, squash, and tennis. The Statesmen compete in the NCAA Division III and are members of the Liberty League for all sports except men's lacrosse, which competes in NCAA Division I, as a member of the Northeast Conference.

Jack Siedlecki American football coach (born 1951)

Jack "Sid" Siedlecki is an American football coach. He was a head coach in college football for 21 years for Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1988–1992), Amherst College (1993–1996) and Yale University (1997–2008). He led his teams to championships in the Ivy League, the Freedom Football Conference, and the New England Small College Athletic Conference. He was selected as the American Football Coaches Association District I Coach of the Year after the 2006 season.

Jim Ostendarp

James Elmore Ostendarp was an American gridiron football player and coach. He played professional football for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) from 1950 to 1951 and the Montreal Alouettes of the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union—a forerunner of the Canadian Football League (CFL)—in 1952. Ostendarp was the head football coach at Amherst College for 33 years, from 1959 to 1991, compiling a record of 168–91–5. He also served as president of the American Football Coaches Association in 1982.

Abraham Barr Snively II was an American football player and coach of lacrosse, football, and ice hockey. He played football for Princeton University from 1921 to 1923 and was captain of the 1923 team. He held coaching positions at Williams College in lacrosse, football and hockey from 1928 to 1948 and at the University of New Hampshire from 1953 to 1964.
