The Cook Islands national football team is the men's football team that represents the Cook Islands in international competition since 1971. It is governed by the Cook Islands Football Association which is part of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and FIFA.
The Cook Islands national rugby league team have represented the Cook Islands in international rugby league football since 1986. Administered by the Cook Islands Rugby League Association (CIRLA), the team has competed at two Rugby League World Cups, in 2000 and 2013, and are coached by Tony Iro.

Currently, players who have represented or played for the Tahiti national rugby team, are eligible to represent France. However, playing at a professional level can only enable this. At present there are several Tahitian professional rugby players abroad in France's Top 14 and Pro D2 professional competition.
Kevin Leslie Iro, also known by the nickname of '"The Beast", is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, and coached in the 2000s. He played at representative level for New Zealand, Cook Islands, Auckland and Rest of the World, and at club level for Mount Albert, Manly-Warringah, Hunter Mariners and the Auckland Warriors, and in England for Wigan, Leeds and St. Helens, as a wing, centre or stand-off, playing in Challenge Cup finals for all three English teams, and coached at representative level for Cook Islands.
Rugby league is the national sport and most popular sport in the Cook Islands, with soccer and rugby union as the next most popular/played sports. In September 2009, the Cook Islands hosted the 2009 Pacific Mini Games. Cook Islands Sports National Olympic Committee is the official governing body of sport in the Cook Islands.
Tony Roy Iro is a professional rugby league coach who is the head coach of the Cook Islands national rugby league team and a former professional rugby league footballer. He is a former New Zealand international representative, playing on the wing or in the second row in 25 Tests.

Daniel Fepuleai is a Cook Islands professional rugby league footballer for the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup. He previously played with Sydney Roosters in Australasia's National Rugby League, and the St. George Illawarra Dragons as well as a stint with the New Jersey Turnpike Titans in the USA Rugby League. He plays primarily as a hooker. Despite never featuring for the Dragons' first grade team, Fepuleai reached the final of the 2009 Pacific Cup with the Cook Islands. He made his NRL debut for Sydney Roosters against the Penrith Panthers in round 5 of the competition in 2010.
