John Reilly is an English-Irish football coach and former player. He was most recently the manager of the British Virgin Islands national football team. [1]

Playing career

Born in Hackney, London to Irish parentage, [2] Reilly played Non-League football for Leytonstone, Ilford and East Ham United. [1]

Coaching career

Following his playing career, Reilly moved to Ireland, coaching at Crumlin United, Malahide United and Home Farm. [2] In 2018, after moving to the islands, Reilly was appointed technical director and manager of the British Virgin Islands national football team. [2] [1]

Realising later that he didn't have the talent to become a top player, he decided to focus on coaching. In 1986, he was appointed manager of the League of Ireland side St Patrick's Athletic. In 1992, when the club was facing liquidation, Kerr was among the investors who raised IR£82,000 to help save the club. In December 1996, he left St Patrick's to become the technical director of the Football Association of Ireland.
