John Stringer is a British composer, oboist, conductor and academic.
John Stringer was born in Newcastle and studied at the University of Huddersfield. Following an undergraduate degree in music, Stringer went on to complete postgraduate study and a PhD at the University of York where he is now a senior lecturer and teaches modules in Mahler, Birtwistle, Composition and Conducting. [1] His music is published by the University of York Music Press. [2]
As composer and conductor, Stringer has worked with the Orchestra of Opera North, Philharmonia and BBC Symphony Orchestra, Basel Soloists, Corrente Ensemble, Black Hair, New Music Players, de ereprijs, Apollo Saxophone Quartet and the 4Mality Percussion Quartet. He is also Assistant Conductor with the City of Leeds Youth Orchestra.
As a conductor and oboist, he has also worked with Jonathan Harvey, James Wood, Hanna Kulenty, Richard Ayres, Hans Abrahamsen, Stephen Montague, Robert Saxton, and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
His works have been performed across the UK, Europe, Japan, and the United States.

Charles Peter Wuorinen was an American composer of contemporary classical music based in New York City. He also performed as a pianist and conductor. Wuorinen composed more than 270 works: orchestral music, chamber music, solo instrumental and vocal works, and operas, such as Brokeback Mountain. His work was termed serialist but he came to disparage that idea as meaningless. Time's Encomium, his only purely electronic piece, received the Pulitzer Prize. Wuorinen taught at several institutions, including Columbia University, Rutgers University and the Manhattan School of Music.

Adler's musical catalogue includes over 400 published compositions. He has been honored with several awards including Germany's Order of Merit – Officer's Cross.

Dating back to 1994, Robert Sirota's work can be found on nine studio albums recorded by an assortment of musicians including: Dinosaur Annex Ensemble, the Chiara String Quartet, and the American String Quartet. Most recently, Sirota's 2020 work for cello and piano, Family Portraits, was recorded by the Fischer Duo for their album 2020 Visions, released on Navona Records on August 26, 2022.
