John Sullivan (born 6 January 1991) is an Irish association football coach and former professional player who is the first team coach at Women's National League club DLR Waves.

Career

Sullivan signed for Hamilton Academical on 2 January 2009 from Irish side Bohemians. [1] He made his professional debut on 26 December 2009, in a Scottish Premier League match against Celtic. [2] Sullivan left Hamilton at the end of the 2009–10 season to return to Ireland, spending the 2010 season with Limerick, before moving to Shelbourne in time for the 2011 season. [3] [4]

Sullivan left Shelbourne on 30 July 2012. [5]

Sullivan signed for Dundalk on 8 January 2013. [6]

On 12 December 2015, Sullivan signed for Galway United for the 2016 season. [7] On 4 March 2016, in the season opener against St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park, Sullivan made his debut and scored an 83rd-minute header in a 3–1 win. [8] Despite the great start to his time at Galway United, it was announced on 28 June 2016 that Sullivan had left the club citing travel issues. [9]

Sullivan re-signed for Bray Wanderers in July 2016. [10] He left Bray after their 2018 season, spending 2019 playing with amateur teams Bluebell United and Crumlin United. He then stopped playing at 28 years old and joined DLR Waves as a coach for their 2020 season. [11]

The 2016 League of Ireland Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2016 EA Sports Cup, was the 43rd season of the League of Ireland's secondary knockout competition. The EA Sports Cup features teams from the SSE Airtricity League Premier and First Divisions, as well as some intermediate level teams.

The 2017 season was St. Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 88th year in existence and was the Supersaint's 66th consecutive season in the top-flight of Irish football. It was the sixth year that Liam Buckley is the team's manager, following replacing Pete Mahon in December 2011. With the new change to the League of Ireland structure, 3 clubs were set to be relegated from the Premier Division, which has created an intense relegation between many clubs, including Pats' due to their lower budget than previous years following a poor 2016 season in which they finished 7th in the league, making 2017 the first year in 7 years without European football. The relegation battle went right down to the last day of the season, where Pat's secured the necessary point to stay up following a 1–1 draw away to Derry City.

The 2017 FAI Senior Challenge Cup was the 97th season of the knockout national Football competition of the Republic of Ireland. The winners of this season's cup earned a place in the 2018–19 Europa League and would have entered in the first qualifying round.

The Women's Under-17 National League is the under-17 division of the Women's National League and the first under-age national league in women's football.

The 2024 Shelbourne F.C. season is the club's 129th season in existence, their third season back in the League of Ireland Premier Division following promotion from the League of Ireland First Division in 2021, and their first season back in European competition since 2006, competing the 2024-25 UEFA Conference League.
