Wisconsin is a state in the Great Lakes region of the Upper Midwest of the United States. It borders Minnesota to the west, Iowa to the southwest, Illinois to the south, Lake Michigan to the east, Michigan to the northeast, and Lake Superior to the north. Wisconsin is the 25th-largest state by land area and the 20th-most populous. It is divided into 72 counties and as of the 2020 census had a population of nearly 5.9 million. Its most populous city is Milwaukee, while its capital and second-most populous city is Madison. Other large population centers include Green Bay, Kenosha, Racine, and the Fox Cities.
Camp Randall Stadium is an outdoor stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin. It has been the home of the Wisconsin Badgers football team in rudimentary form since 1895, and as a fully functioning stadium since 1917. It is the oldest and fifth largest stadium in the Big Ten Conference. The field has a conventional north–south alignment, at an approximate elevation of 880 feet (270 m) above sea level.
WTMJ is a commercial AM radio station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Owned by Good Karma Brands, the station has a news/talk radio format. Its sign-on dates back to 1922 and for most of its history it was owned by The Milwaukee Journal newspaper. On weekdays, it airs news blocks during drive time, local talk shows in middays, sports in the evening and syndicated shows in late nights. Richard James Johnson is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for eight seasons with the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). He was an All-American and All-Big Ten cornerback in 1984 for the Wisconsin Badgers. He was selected by the Oilers in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft with the 11th overall pick.
The 1963 Rose Bowl was the 49th edition of the college football bowl game, played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Tuesday, January 1, at the end of the 1962 season. The top-ranked USC Trojans defeated the Wisconsin Badgers, 42–37. This was the first matchup between the AP Poll No. 1 vs. No. 2 in a bowl game, although such matchups had occurred previously in the regular season. The game was therefore a de facto national championship game as the winner would receive the FWAA’s Grantland Rice Trophy. The quarterbacks, Ron Vander Kelen of Wisconsin and Pete Beathard of USC, were named co-Players of the Game.

Arthur F. Folz a.k.a. Art Foltz was a professional American football player who played with the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) from 1923 to 1925. He is best known for his role in the 1925 Chicago Cardinals–Milwaukee Badgers scandal, where Folz hired a group of high school football players from his alma mater, Chicago's Engelwood High School, to play for the Milwaukee Badgers, against the Cardinals. During the recruitment, Folz reportedly told the high schoolers that the game was a "practice game" and would in no part affect their amateur status.
Robert John Landsee was an American professional football player and coach. He played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers and was selected in the sixth round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played as a center and guard for parts of three seasons. He later served as head coach and owner of the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League (AFL).
Nicholas Mark Cummins, known by his nickname The Honey Badger, is an Australian former professional rugby union player and television personality. He played for the Western Force in Super Rugby and for Coca-Cola Red Sparks in the Japanese Top League. John Patrick Harrington was a professional American football end and defensive end who played two seasons for the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Rockets in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). Harrington attended Marquette University and became the football team's captain in 1942. He joined the military in 1944 and played for Air Force teams in 1944 and 1945. He was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals in 1945 but instead signed with the Browns before the team's inaugural season in 1946. Harrington played in one season for the Browns before he was traded to the Rockets in 1947.
The 1892 Wisconsin Badgers football team represented the University of Wisconsin as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the Northwest (IAANW) during the 1892 college football season. Led by Frank Crawford in his first and only season as head coach, the Badgers compiled an overall record of 4–3 with a mark of 2–2 in conference playing, placing second in the IAANW. The team's captain was John D. Freeman.
The 1936 Marquette Golden Avalanche football team was an American football team that represented Marquette University as an independent during the 1936 college football season. In its 15th and final season under head coach Frank Murray, the team compiled a 7–2 record and outscored opponents by a total of 136 to 60. The team played its home games at Marquette Stadium in Milwaukee.
Tyrann Devine Mathieu is an American football safety for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at LSU. In college he developed a reputation for causing turnovers, setting a Southeastern Conference (SEC) record with 11 career forced fumbles and earning the nickname "the Honey Badger" after the mammal of the same name. In his sophomore season, he was recognized as a consensus All-American, won the Chuck Bednarik Award as the best defensive player in college football, and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Mathieu was dismissed from the LSU football program after that season due to a violation of team rules.

The team was led by second-year head coach John Coatta, and they competed in the Big Ten Conference. The Brampton Honey Badgers are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Brampton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. They play their games at the CAA Centre. The team was founded in 2018 as the Hamilton Honey Badgers and played at the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario from their inaugural season in 2019 until 2022.
