Johnathan Carlos Pereira Souza (born 4 April 1995), or simply Johnathan, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a defender for Bulgarian First League club CSKA 1948.

Career

Johnathan is a product of the Goiás youth sportive system. After that, he played for some Brazilian football clubs, until in February 2018 signed a two and half years contract with the Ukrainian Premier League club Stal Kamianske. [1] He joined Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv in August 2018. [2]

The 2016–17 season was 26th consecutive season in the top Ukrainian football league for FC Dnipro. Dnipro competed in Premier League and in the Ukrainian Cup. Dnipro would have qualified for the Europa League group stage as the third-placed team of the 2015–16 Ukrainian Premier League, but were excluded from participating in the 2016–17 European competitions by the UEFA Club Financial Control Body. The club was excluded from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which it would otherwise qualify in the next three seasons for violating the Financial Fair Play regulations. Dnipro also was restricted from signing new players other than free agents by FFU for debts to Juande Ramos' staff.

The 2016–17 season was 16th season in the top Ukrainian football league for Volyn Lutsk. Volyn competed in Premier League and in the Ukrainian Cup. On May 12, 2017 Football Federation of Ukraine deducted six points from Volyn in order to implement the decision of FIFA Disciplinary Committee of 15 March 2017. The club was penalized for failing to clear their debts with former player Saša Stević. As a result club lost all chances to stay in Premier League three matchdays ahead of season finish and was relegated to Ukrainian First League.

The 2016–17 season was 7th season in the top Ukrainian football league for Zirka Kropyvnytskyi. Zirka competed in Premier League and in the Ukrainian Cup.

The 2017–18 season was 6th season in the top Ukrainian football league for FC Oleksandriya. Oleksandriya competed in Premier League, Ukrainian Cup and UEFA Europa League.

The 2017–18 season was 3rd consecutive season in the top Ukrainian football league and the last season for Stal Kamianske. Stal competed in Premier League and Ukrainian Cup. After finishing at 12th position Stal was relegated to First League at the end of the season. The team officially relocated to Bucha, Kyiv Oblast and renamed to Feniks in the 2018–19 midseason. However before the start of next season new club withdrew from 2018–19 Ukrainian First League due to financial difficulties.
