Johnny Roy Scott (born July 15, 1969 in Austin, Texas) is a former all-star defensive lineman in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Biography

Unusual for modern football players, Scott did not go to college, but went pro directly from Albert Sidney Johnston High School. He signed as a free agent with the Shreveport Pirates (part of the CFL's failed expansion to the United States) and played two years (1994 and 1995) recording three sacks. He played the next four years with the B.C. Lions (67 games), twice being named an all star with 35 total sacks. He moved on to the Toronto Argonauts in 2000, playing three years there and getting 11 sacks in 30 games and being named an all star twice. He played 2003 and 2004 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (28 games and 5 sacks) and played two games with the Ottawa Renegades in 2005.

He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (1982), Canada's Sports Hall of Fame (1985) and the Wittenberg University Athletic Hall of Honour (1985).

The 2007 CFL season was the 54th season of modern-day Canadian football, the 50th season of the Canadian Football League, and many special events were held to commemorate the event. Regular-season play began on June 28, 2007, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario and concluded on Saturday, November 3, 2007. The playoffs began on Sunday, November 11, 2007, and ended with the championship game, the 95th Grey Cup, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, on November 25, 2007, with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as champions.

John Chick is a former professional Canadian football defensive end who played eight seasons in the Canadian Football League, primarily with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After signing with Saskatchewan in 2007, he was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player after the 2009 CFL season. He would help the team capture the Grey Cup twice, in 2007 and 2013. Chick has also spent time in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. Prior to playing professional football, Chick played college football for the Utah State Aggies. During his senior season with the Aggies, Chick recorded 12.5 quarterback sacks, good enough for fifth overall in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Chick also played for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos later in his career.

Matt Kirk is a Canadian football defensive tackle who is currently a free agent. He most recently played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted by the Ottawa Renegades in the 2004 CFL Draft. He played CIS Football at Queen's.

As well, Butler was recognized as a member of the CFL All-Decade team, 2010-2019.

He was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2019 with the Bombers, and is a five-time CFL All-Star and six-time CFL West All-Star.
