Jonathan Miramontes (born October 17, 1988, in Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a former Mexican professional footballer who last played for Sonora of Ascenso MX.

The Liga Premier, formerly called Segunda División de México is the third level division in the Mexican football league system. It has 49 teams divided into two divisions. They compete from the fall to spring each season, promotion and relegation between each group, and promotion to Liga de Expansión MX and relegation to Liga TDP within the league system.
Liga MX, officially known as the Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional football division of the Mexican football league system. Formerly called Liga Mayor (1943-1949) and then Primera División de México (1949-2012), it has 18 clubs and the season is divided into two short tournaments, Apertura from July to December and Clausura from January to May. The champions of each tournament is decided by a final phase called "liguilla". Since 2020, promotion and relegation has been suspended, which is to last until 2026.
The Copa MX, formerly called Copa México and Copa Corona MX, was the Mexican football cup tournament. The first season of the professional era was held in 1942-43. The cup tournament was not held in several years and currently the competition has been paused since the 2019-20 edition. It was the first tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious competition, especially during its earlier years of existence. The purpose of the competition was to determine a national cup champion, thus distinguishing it from the national league championship. Its format was different from the local leagues as well, as it employed direct elimination and culminated in a final match.
The Ascenso MX was the second level division of the Mexican football league system. The champions of the competition was promoted to Liga MX. The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier. It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX.
Club de Fútbol Potros de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México was a Mexican football team. They were nicknamed Potros (Broncos). Their uniform color was white and green, wearing a white and green vertical stripe shirt for their home games. The club was founded in 1970 when the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico register its football squad in to the Tercera División de México under the name of Moscos de la UAEM. The club played in the Ascenso MX between 2016 and 2019. In December 2019, the team dissolved their Ascenso MX squad and only maintained the Liga TDP team until the end of the season, after this, the second squad was dissolved.

Alebrijes de Oaxaca Fútbol Club is a Mexican football team based in the city of Oaxaca, state of Oaxaca. They play in the second tier of Mexican football league, Liga de Expansión MX. The team was created when the Tecamachalco franchise won the Segunda División title and earned the promotion to the Ascenso MX. Due to poor infrastructure they were unable to participate, which led to the formation of the new Oaxaca franchise.
Fútbol Club Juárez, commonly referred to as "Bravos de Juárez", is a Mexican football club based in the city of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua that currently competes in Liga MX.
Club de Fútbol Cafetaleros de Chiapas was a Mexican football club based in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas currently competing in Liga Premier de México, the third tier of Mexican football. Between 2015 and 2020, the team played at Ascenso MX, the second tier of Mexican football. On June 26, 2020, the club's first-team squad was relocated to Cancún and renamed as Cancún F.C., however, Cafetaleros de Chiapas kept the team registered in Liga Premier, which was affiliated with Cancún F.C. between 2020 and 2022.

Apertura began on 1 August 2019. On April 17, Liga MX President Enrique Bonilla announced the termination of the remainder of the Clausura 2020 tournament. Two reasons were the COVID-19 pandemic and the league's lack of financial resources.
The Liga de Expansión MX, officially known as Liga BBVA Expansión MX for sponsorship reasons, is the second level division in the Mexican football league system. Founded in 2020 as part of the FMF's "Stabilization Project", which has the primary objective of rescuing the financially troubled teams from the Ascenso MX and prevent the disappearance of a second level league in Mexico. The project also attempts for Liga MX and former Ascenso MX teams to consolidate stable projects with strong administration, finances, and infrastructure.
