On stage, Dawson has starred in The Training Run (Bondi Pavilion, 1977), [1] [2] Occupation: Comedian (Courthouse Theatre, 1990), [3] [4] [5] An Office Romance (Courthouse Theatre, 1990), [6] [7] and Dear Suburbia (La Mama, 1992) [8] [9] Featured screen roles include the first episode of Pig in a Poke , [10] [2] the TV play The Kiss and Ride Ferry and playing the Reverend's wife in The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith [2] Other film roles include The Fourth Wish and TV guest credits roles include, Matlock Police , Glenview High and Neighbours .

She won the 1974–1975 AFI Award for Best Actress for playing the title role in documentary Who Killed Jenny Langby? , [11] [12] a role that was fully improvised. [13]
