The earliest traces of Danish music go back to the many twisting Bronze-Age horns or lurs which some experts have identified as musical instruments. They have been discovered in various parts of Scandinavia, mostly Denmark, since the end of the 18th century. Denmark's most famous classical composer is Carl Nielsen, especially remembered for his six symphonies, while the Royal Danish Ballet specializes in the work of Danish choreographer August Bournonville. Danes have distinguished themselves as jazz musicians, and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival has acquired an international reputation. Swan Lee is a Danish indie rock band consisting of singer Pernille Rosendahl, guitarist Jonas Struck and drummer Emil Jørgensen. Swan Lee has released three albums on their own label GoGo Records: Enter (2001), Swan Lee (2004) and The Garden (2023). They have won Danmarks Radio's P3 award, and are particularly known for the singles "Tomorrow Never Dies", "Love Will Keep You Warm" and "I Don't Mind".
Søren Nystrøm Rasted is a Danish musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He plays keyboards, guitar and sings backing vocals. He is a member of the Danish-Norwegian Eurodance group Aqua.
Infernal is a dance-pop group from Denmark, consisting of members Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann. They made their Danish debut in 1997 with the release of the track "Sorti de L'enfer", and went on to international chart success in the 2000s. Their most successful single to date has been "From Paris to Berlin", which charted well in many European countries throughout 2006 and 2007. In addition to the original single, an alternate version was released in the UK titled "From London to Berlin", supporting England in the 2006 Football World Cup.
Simon Kvamm is a Danish-Faroese actor and singer. He is best known as one of the founding members of the Danish rock band Nephew, where he is the lead vocalist and keyboard player. He is also well known for his acts in the Danish cult show Drengene fra Angora. He is also part of pop duo De Eneste To alongside Peter Sommer.
Sune Rose Wagner is a Danish songwriter, guitarist, and singer, best known for playing in the rock group The Raveonettes. In addition to his own bands, Wagner has produced, recorded, and mixed albums by acts such as Dum Dum Girls, Crocodiles, and Louise Burns.
Alphabeat were a Danish pop band from Silkeborg, fronted by singers Stine Bramsen and Anders Stig Gehrt Nielsen. Their single "Fascination" was a major hit in Denmark during the summer of 2006, as well as the United Kingdom in 2008. Their 2007 eponymous debut album reached number two in Denmark and was certified Platinum. Following its wide release in Europe in 2008, retitled This is Alphabeat, it reached number ten in the UK and was certified Gold in the region. The album also contains their first number one hit in Denmark, "10.000 Nights of Thunder".
Martin Hoberg Hedegaard, also known as Saveus, is a Danish singer, songwriter and record producer. In 2016, he wrote and produced the EP Will Somebody Save Us and in 2018 he released his first full-length album, Neuro. The same year, he opened the Orange Stage at the Roskilde Festival.
Lis Sørensen is a Danish pop/rock singer and songwriter. In the 1970s, she worked with Anne Linnet in Shit & Chanel, and they continued in the 1980s with Anne Linnet Band. In 1983, Lis Sørensen released her first solo album. She is also known for being the first artist to record Ednaswap's "Torn", which was renamed "Brændt". The song was later made famous by Natalie Imbruglia and Trine Rein.
Hush is a Danish pop duo composing and performing music since 1997. The duo consists of singer Dorthe Gerlach and guitarist Michael Hartmann.
Mads Lillelund Langer is a Danish singer-songwriter, who became internationally known for his cover of "You're Not Alone" by the British band Olive. He is a multi platinum artist in his home country Denmark.
Kristian Humaidan, better known by his stage name UFO, is a Danish singer, rapper and hip hop artist. He was part of the rap duo UFO Yepha before splitting-up and going solo. With the split, UFO is noticeably branching into Danish music rather than hip hop as in the days with Yepha.
Erann David Drori, better known as Erann DD, is a Danish singer and songwriter of Yemeni-Jewish origin.
Muri & Mario, at times Muri og Mario is a Danish-Italian pop duo made up of Murad Mahmoud (Muri) and Mario Sciacca (Mario).
L.I.G.A is a Danish urban pop trio formed in 2012 made up of Nicky Russell, Feras Agwa and Ihan Haydar. They are signed to RE:A:CH and for distribution with Universal Music in Denmark. After Feras Agwa leaving in 2015, the formation continued as a duo consisting of Nicky Russell and Ihan Haydar.
Peter Bjørnskov, also known as just Bjørnskov, is a Danish singer, songwriter and record producer. He is part of the songwriting team Startone Music with Sune Haansbæk and Lene Dissing. He has also released solo singles. He was previously part of the Danish band Neeva.
Ahmad Darwich also known as Darwich, is a Lebanese-Danish DJ, songwriter and record producer. He is co-founder of the Danish Kashcow record label.
Anthony Jasmin sometimes Anthony & Jasmin is a Danish pop duo who on 28 March 2014 won season 7 of the Danish version of X Factor in 2014. After Anthony Lopez and Jasmin Dahl were eliminated as solo artists at bootcamp, the duo was formed and mentored by Thomas Blachman. They reached the final and won against Lucy, mentored by Remee, becoming the first ever duo or group formation to win the Danish title.
Patrick Spiegelberg is a Danish singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer and vocal producer. He has also performed with the stage name Glamboy P, and has earlier used the names Patrick Hellegård and Rick Spiegel.
