A. M. Jyothi Krishna, commonly known as Rathnam Krishna, is an Indian film director and screenwriter in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. He is the eldest son of producer A. M. Rathnam and eldest brother of actor Ravi Krishna.

Career

Jyothi Krishna at 17 was credited with the story of his father, A. M. Ratnam's production Natpukaaga , starring Sarath Kumar and the film performed well at the box office. [1] He was also story writer for the Chiranjeevi's film Sneham Kosam and was also involved in story discussions of Rajinikanth's hit film Padayappa . [2] He went on to make his directorial debut in the A. R. Rahman musical Enakku 20 Unakku 18 , starring Tarun, Trisha Krishnan and Shriya Saran. His next, Kedi , featured his brother Ravi Krishna in the lead role, whilst Ileana D'Cruz and Tamannaah Bhatia were also in the cast.

In 2010, Jyothi Krishna began work on his acting debut with Ooh La La La, scheduled for release in 2012. [3] [4] His latest directorial project is Oxygen, set to release on 30 November 2017. [5]

A. M. Rathnam is an Indian film producer, lyricist, screenwriter, and director known for his works in Telugu and Tamil cinema. Under Sri Surya Movies Entertainment, a movie production house he owns in Hyderabad, he has produced blockbusters in Telugu such as Karthavyam (1990), Peddarikam (1992), Sneham Kosam (1999), and Kushi (2001). He ventured into Tamil cinema in 1996 with the blockbuster Indian, which was India's Official Entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards. He then produced films such as Kushi, Run, Boys, Enakku 20 Unakku 18, Dhool, Ghilli, 7G Rainbow Colony, Arrambam, Yennai Arindhaal and Vedalam.

Kedi ( transl. Cunning) is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language romantic crime thriller film written and directed by Jyothi Krishna. It stars Ravi Krishna, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ileana D'Cruz. The film marks the Tamil debut of Bhatia and D'Cruz, where the former plays a character with negative shades and the latter plays the love interest of Ravi Krishna. Atul Kulkarni, Suman Setty, Ramesh Khanna and M. S. Bhaskar play supporting roles. The film was released on 24 September 2006.

Sathyam (transl. Truth) is an Indian 2008 Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by debutante A. Rajasekhar in his directorial debut. The film stars Vishal in the role of a cop for the first time. Nayanthara plays the female lead role, while popular Kannada actor Upendra plays the parallel leading role as Vishal's mentor, making his Tamil debut. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Salute, with a slightly different cast and locations. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film released on 14 August 2008. The film was produced by Vikram Krishna, Vishal's brother.

Ravi Krishna is a former Indian actor who worked in the Tamil and Telugu films. Son of producer A. M. Rathnam, he made his acting debut in Selvaraghavan's critically acclaimed 7G Rainbow Colony. He has won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South for his performance in that movie.

Thillalangadi (transl. Defiler) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by Mohan Raja. A remake of the 2009 Telugu film Kick, it stars Raja's brother Jayam Ravi along with Tamannaah Bhatia, and Shaam, who reprises his role from Kick, and a supporting cast including Prabhu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Sanchita Shetty. The film features a soundtrack composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, whilst Thaman S's original score has been reused. The film, produced by Raja's father Editor Mohan and distributed by Sun Pictures, was released on 23 July 2010.

Rakta Sambandham is a 1962 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao and produced by Sundarlal Nahata and Doondi. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao, Kanta Rao, Savitri and Devika, with Relangi, Ramana Reddy, M. Prabhakar Reddy and Suryakantham in supporting roles. A remake of A. Bhimsingh's Tamil-language film Pasamalar (1961), it narrates the story of bonding between Rajasekhar "Raju" and his sister Radha, who lose their parents at an early age. Radha falls in love with Raju's friend Anand and they marry. The rest of the film focuses on the impact made by Anand's aunt Kanthamma on their lives post marriage.

Veppam (transl. Heat) is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language crime action film written and directed by newcomer Anjana Ali Khan, starring Nani, Nithya Menen, Karthik Kumar, and Bindu Madhavi. The film marks Nani's Tamil debut. The story narrates events from the slum areas of Chennai, showcasing characters and their struggles. The film, jointly produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon's Photon Kathaas and R. S. Infotainment, had been in production for over one year. The film released on 29 July 2011, while a dubbed Telugu version, titled Sega, released simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh. Veppam received mixed reviews.

She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Ishtam (2001) and had her first commercial success with Santosham (2002).
