KOLARS is a band based in Los Angeles. [1] Their sound is described as Desert Disco, Space Blues and Glamabilly. [2]

Founded by musicians Rob Kolar and Lauren Brown, both former members of folk group He's My Brother She's My Sister. [3]

Rob Kolar is an American singer-songwriter, producer, composer and actor.

He's My Brother She's My Sister is a band formed in Los Angeles, California. This folk group has been influenced by a wide range of genres ranging from pop, country, and punk among others.

In 2017, their self-titled debut album was released to wide critical acclaim; Huffington Post "instantly fell in love with their tantalizing sonics and their energetic apocalyptic marvel", [4] Paste Magazine "KOLARS play their unique blend of 70s glam rock, 90s grunge and twangy country with every inch of their body", [5] Denver Post "KOLARS has a knack for buffing your weathered perspective to a glinting sheen. The world isn't on fire; it's glowing." [6]

KOLARS have played over 400 shows since 2016, [7] including appearances at several music festivals: SXSW, [8] Treefort Festival, Rolling Stone Weekender, [9] London Calling, Gasparilla, Cornbury, Savannah Stopover, Dot to Dot, The Great Escape.

The Black Parade is the third studio album by American rock band My Chemical Romance. Released on October 23, 2006, through Reprise Records, it was produced by Rob Cavallo, known for having produced multiple albums for Goo Goo Dolls and Green Day. It is a rock opera centering on a dying character with cancer known as "The Patient". The album tells the story of his apparent death, experiences in the afterlife, and subsequent reflections on his life.

Howlin' Rain is an American, San Francisco based band, which formed in 2004 and released their first album in 2006. Described as "classically soulful" Howlin' Rain are currently signed with Rick Rubin to the Columbia Records subset American Recordings. Subsequent releases by the band will be handled jointly between American Recordings and the indie label Birdman Records. The band's 2008 album Magnificent Fiend has been described as a "combination of psychedelia, blues, funk and classic 1970s arena rock." Their album, The Russian Wilds, was released in February 2012.

50 Records

50 Records was a Minneapolis-based record label that was co-founded in 2006 by Drew Pearson, Dylan Ohm, and CEO Deb Ward-Ingstad, who also owns several radio stations in the South. Artists on their roster include White Light Riot and Elevation. Both bands charted nationally on all three charts at specialty radio and received high rotation on college radio.

Tinted Windows (band)

Tinted Windows is an American rock supergroup formed by guitarist James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins, singer Taylor Hanson of Hanson, bassist Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and Ivy, and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick. Josh Lattanzi also often performs with the band as the second guitarist. The first performance by the band was on March 18, 2009 at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a small show at the side-stage. The band made their South by Southwest Festival debut in Austin, Texas on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Levi/Fader Fort, followed by a set at Pangaea. The band also played at The Bamboozle music festival in New Jersey on May 3, 2009.

Spark: A Burning Man Story is a 2013 independent documentary film with its world premiere at the South by Southwest film festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. That is about some 60,000 or so people that gather from around the world for a week at the annual Burning Man festival in Black Rock Desert of Nevada to collaborate building a temporary city that operates on a "gifting" economy where nothing is bought or sold. Participants bring in everything; food, water, and shelter. The week features large-scale art installations and partying, at the conclusion of the week a celebration in the ritual burning of a giant effigy, and after one week, take it all away.

Dorothy is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2014. The band consists of vocalist Dorothy Martin, drummer Jason Ganberg, guitarists Owen Barry and Eli Wulfmeier, and bassist Eliot Lorango. They released their first project, a self-titled EP, in 2014. Rolling Stone deemed them "a [band] you need to know," and named them #14 on their 50 Best New Artists of 2014 list.

Ho99o9 is an American hip hop group founded by theOGM and Eaddy in 2012 in Newark, New Jersey. They relocated to Los Angeles in 2014, where they attracted a strong cult following on account of their live performance, according to the LA Weekly, and attracted collaborators such as Ian Longwell who plays drums and produces for Santigold. Their style combines dark hip hop with the aggression of hardcore punk.
