Kachug (Russian : Качуг) is the name of several inhabited localities in Russia.

Russian is an East Slavic language, which is official in the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as being widely used throughout Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Kachugsky District is an administrative district, one of the thirty-three in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Kachugsky Municipal District. The area of the district is 32,000 square kilometers (12,000 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality of Kachug. Population: 17,388 (2010 Census); 20,501 ; 23,026 (1989 Census). The population of Kachug accounts for 40.3% of the district's total population.

The population of Nikolsk accounts for 38.0% of the district's total population.

Vologda Oblast is a federal subject of Russia. Its administrative center is Vologda. Population: 1,202,444. The largest city is Cherepovets, the home of the Severstal metallurgical plant, the largest industrial enterprise in the oblast.
