Karen Hunter-Whishaw (born 26 August 1968) is a British former professional tennis player. [1]
Hunter, ranked as high as 332 in the world, won her way through qualifying at the 1988 Wimbledon Championships, beating Veronika Martinek, Sam Smith and Karine Quentrec. She was beaten in the first round by Karen Schimper. [2]

In her short career, she made the quarterfinals or better at each of the four Grand Slam championships in both singles and doubles. She also won the Australian Open in doubles, and assisted Australia to victory in the Federation Cup.

The event was won by Americans Francis Hunter and Vincent Richards after five-set matches in both the semifinals and final against French pairs. It was the nation's second victory in the event, second-most behind Great Britain's three wins. Jacques Brugnon and Henri Cochet were the silver medalists, falling to the Americans in the final. Jean Borotra and René Lacoste had met Hunter and Richards in the semifinals, losing to them before winning the bronze-medal match against Jack Condon and Ivie Richardson of South Africa.
