Kathleen "Kate" Miller is an American actress and voice over artist. She plays the role of Amanda Shaw in the television series Hightown and Vivian Abetemarco on Blue Bloods . Her Broadway career includes roles in Moon Over Buffalo and Amadeus . Her voice over work includes the animated series Sealab 2021 , Frisky Dingo and Dora the Explorer as well as the video games God of War Ragnarök , Gotham Knights , and the Guild Wars franchise.

Biography

Miller was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in West Virginia. She attended an apprenticeship at summer stock theater before returning to finish high school at Interlochen Arts Academy. She moved to San Diego where she obtained her BFA in theater. [1]

Miller moved to New York City to work on Broadway. She made her first Broadway appearance in the original production of Moon Over Buffalo alongside Carol Burnett, [2] and played opposite Michael Sheen in the revival production of Amadeus shortly thereafter. [3] [4]

Throughout her career she played in numerous television shows and films, including Hightown, Blue Bloods, The Trial of the Chicago 7 , and Law & Order . She has done voice over work for video games such as Gotham Knights and God of War Ragnarök as well as the shows Frisky Dingo and Dora the Explorer . Miller voiced the character Debbie DuPree on the Adult Swim show Sealab 2021 , one of the segment's first original shows. [5] [6]

She has been married to actor John DiMaggio [23] since 2014 and lives and works in both Los Angeles and New York City. [24]

Hightown is an American crime drama television series that premiered on Starz on May 17, 2020. The series is created by Rebecca Cutter and executive produced by Cutter, Gary Lennon, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and KristieAnne Reed and stars Monica Raymund and James Badge Dale. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered on October 17, 2021. In March 2022, the series was renewed for a third season. The third and final season premiered on January 26, 2024.

Gary Lennon is an American playwright, television writer and executive producer. He is currently a showrunner on Power and Hightown, both for the Starz network, where he has an overall development deal. He is also an executive producer on Euphoria for HBO. In 2013, Lennon won a Peabody Award for the first season of Orange is the New Black along with his fellow writers and producers.
