Kathy Knecht [1] is an American politician seeking to represent District 21 in the Arizona State Senate. She is an Independent candidate running in the general election on November 6, 2018. She currently serves on the Governing Board of the Peoria Unified School District where she was elected in 2006 [2] , 2010 [3] , and 2014. [4]

Kathy was born in Oconomowoc, WI. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education and Master's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at Arizona State University. She has been both a 4th and 5th grade teacher and has served on the Peoria Unified School District board since 2007.
Oconomowoc is a city in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The name was derived from Coo-no-mo-wauk, the Potawatomi term for "waterfall." The population was 15,712 at the 2010 census. The city is partially adjacent to the Town of Oconomowoc and near the village of Oconomowoc Lake, Wisconsin.
