Kevin Falconer is the current Mayor of the City of Carrollton, Texas. He was elected as Mayor on June 10, 2017 defeating former City Councilman Steve Babick in a runoff election. [5] [6] Prior to becoming Mayor, Falconer served two consecutive terms on the Carrollton City Council from 2009 through 2015. [7] He has been married to Susan Falconer since August 1983 and is the father of 3 daughters and grandfather to 1 grandson.[ citation needed ]

2011 Dallas mayoral election

The Dallas mayoral election of 2011 took place on May 14, 2011, to elect the successor to incumbent Mayor Tom Leppert. Leppert decided not to run for a second term, deciding to instead run for United States Senate in 2012. The race is officially nonpartisan. After no candidate received a majority of the votes, the top two candidates – Mike Rawlings and David Kunkle – faced each other in a runoff election on June 18, 2011 in which Rawlings prevailed.

2007 Dallas mayoral election

The Dallas mayoral election of 2007 took place on May 12, 2007, to elect the successor to incumbent Mayor Laura Miller. Miller decided not to run for a second full term. The race is officially nonpartisan. After no candidate received a majority of the votes, the top two candidates - Tom Leppert and Ed Oakley - faced each other in a runoff election on June 16, 2007 in which Leppert prevailed.

2013–2014 San Diego mayoral special election

The 2013–2014 San Diego mayoral special election was a special election to elect the Mayor of San Diego. The election was made necessary by the resignation of Bob Filner on August 30, 2013. The winner stood to serve out the balance of Filner's term, which ended in 2016.

Matthew Marchant served as the Mayor of the City of Carrollton, Texas, from May 2011 until June 2017 when he reached the term limit. He is married to Lindsay Marchant, and is the father of two daughters. Marchant is a lifelong resident of Carrollton. His father, Kenny Marchant, also served as Mayor of Carrollton from 1984-1986. Matthew was elected in May 2011, re-elected in 2014, and reached a term limit in June 2017. He was succeeded by Kevin Falconer.

2019 United States elections

The 2019 United States elections will be held, in large part, on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. This off-year election includes the regular gubernatorial elections in Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi. State legislative elections will also be held in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Virginia, as well as for the New Jersey General Assembly. Numerous citizen initiatives, mayoral races, and a variety of other local elections will also occur. Special elections to the United States Congress will take place for the three vacancies that arose.

2017 San Antonio mayoral election

On May 6, 2017, the city of San Antonio, Texas held an election to choose the next mayor of San Antonio. As no candidate secured a majority of the vote, a runoff was held on June 10, 2017 with Councilman Ron Nirenberg defeating incumbent mayor Ivy Taylor.

2014 Jackson mayoral election

The 2014 mayoral election in Jackson, Mississippi took place on April 22, 2014. It was necessitated after the death of incumbent mayor Chokwe Lumumba. Councilman Tony Yarber defeated the late Lumumba's son Chokwe Antar Lumumba in a runoff. Other candidates in the race included former mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr., city council members Melvin Priester and Margaret Barrett-Simon, and state senator John Horhn.

Ron Nirenberg American politician

Ronald Adrian Nirenberg is an American politician who is the mayor of San Antonio, Texas. He was elected following his defeat of the incumbent mayor Ivy Taylor in the runoff for the 2017 mayoral race. Prior to his election, Nirenberg served as a member of the San Antonio City Council for District 8 for two terms. He was sworn into office on June 21, 2017.

2019 San Antonio mayoral election

On May 4, 2019, the city of San Antonio, Texas held an election to choose the next mayor of San Antonio. The election was a nonpartisan blanket primary. As no candidate secured a majority of the vote, a runoff was held on June 8, 2019 between the two top candidates, incumbent mayor Ron Nirenberg and San Antonio City Councilman Greg Brockhouse. In the runoff, Nirenberg narrowly defeated Brockhouse, 51.11% to 48.89%.

2019 Dallas mayoral election

On May 4, 2019, the city of Dallas, Texas, held an election to choose the next Mayor of Dallas. The election began as a nonpartisan blanket primary, no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote so the two top vote-earners Eric Johnson and Scott Griggs advanced to a runoff election on June 8. Incumbent mayor Mike Rawlings was unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Dallas also concurrently elected all 14 members of its city council, and 3 of the 9 total members of the Dallas Independent School District. Johnson won the runoff with 55.61%.
