Kevin Tent is an American film editor and director. Tent has been elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and serves as President of the board. He is best known for his longstanding collaboration with Alexander Payne, having edited every feature film Payne has directed as of 2023. For his work on Payne's films, Tent has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Editing for his works in The Descendants and The Holdovers. Tent also won an ACE Eddie award for first film and received three other ACE Eddie Award nominations for Election, Sideways and About Schmidt. In addition to his career in editing, Tent also co-directed two films, Ultra Warrior (1990) and Blackbelt II (1993), and directed the 2017 film Crash Pad.

In 2022, he won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for his work on Dune, having been nominated twice before for 12 Years a Slave and Arrival. For the American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Feature Film – Dramatic he has received a string of five nominations over eight years and in 2016 he won, for Arrival. He took the European Film Award for Best Editor for Shame in 2012 and Satellite Award for Best Editing for Sicario in 2016.
Robert James Kern was an American film editor with more than sixty feature film credits. He is known for editing National Velvet (1944), which won him the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. National Velvet was one of thirteen films that Kern edited with director Clarence Brown. He also made seven films with director W. S. Van Dyke, including three of the Thin Man series. Kern was nominated for the Academy Award for David Copperfield (1935), which was directed by George Cukor.
Bud S. Smith is an American film editor, producer, and director. He shared the 1984 BAFTA Award for Best Editing for Flashdance and also shared the 2008 American Cinema Editors Career Achievement Award. He is a regular collaborator of director William Friedkin, serving as editor on six of his films. He was nominated for Academy Awards for Flashdance (1983) and The Exorcist (1973). He is married to dialogue editor Lucy Coldsnow-Smith.
