Ice Princess is a 2005 American teen sports comedy-drama film directed by Tim Fywell, written by Hadley Davis from a story by Princess Diaries creator Meg Cabot and Davis. It stars Joan Cusack, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Cattrall and Hayden Panettiere. The film focuses on Casey Carlyle, a normal teenager who gives up a promising future academic life in order to pursue her new-found dream of being a professional figure skater. The film was released on March 18, 2005. It was a financially unsuccessful at the box office, grossing $27.6 million during its theatrical run against a production budget of $25 million.
Danielle "Dani" Kahle is an American former competitive figure skater. She won four medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series, including gold in Croatia in 2003, and finished 11th at the 2004 World Junior Championships. She won one senior international medal, silver, at the 2006 Karl Schäfer Memorial.
Beatrisa "Bebe" Liang is an American retired figure skater. She is the 2006 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and 2007 U.S. national pewter medalist.
Lauren Wilson is a Canadian figure skater. She is the 2002 Canadian junior national champion. She trained under Michelle Leigh and Doug Leigh. She placed 8th at the 2002 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Wilson was one of Michelle Trachtenberg's ice skating doubles in the 2005 Disney movie Ice Princess. After leaving skating because of a stress injury she completed a bachelor's degree in communication studies at the University of Waterloo, a master's degree from Ryerson University and is currently working on her PhD from the University of Toronto and focusing on sport communication and intervention programming for university athletes. She was assistant coach for the Ryerson University ice skating team in 2011/2012 and became acting head coach for the 2012/2013 year.

With former partner Evan Bates, she is the 2009 Four Continents bronze medalist, the 2008 World Junior champion, and the 2009 U.S. national silver medalist. The duo competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Samuelson later skated with Todd Gilles.

Keauna Inaba McLaughlin is an American former competitive pair skater. With partner Rockne Brubaker, she is the 2008 & 2009 U.S. National Champion, the 2010 Four Continents silver medalist, and the 2007 World Junior Champion.
Nicholas Kole is an American pair skater. He currently competes with Amber Kole. They teamed up in 2006 and placed 16th at the 2007 United States Figure Skating Championships. In 2007 they came second at the 2008 Midwestern Sectional Championships and 13th at the 2008 United States Figure Skating Championships.
Jenna Syken is an American figure skater who competes for Israel. In November 2005 she placed 9th on the novice level in the 2006 Eastern Sectional Championships, failing to qualify for the 2006 U.S. Championships. In April 2006 Syken switched to competing for Israel, became a member of the IISF, competed in the 2006 Israel Nationals and won the Junior Ladies Champion title. Syken placed 37th at the 2007 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. Jenna's current coach and choreographer is Vacheslav Uchitel.
Angela Yuka Maxwell is an American former competitive figure skater. She won five medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and the junior silver medal at the 2008 U.S. Championships.
Dalilah Sappenfield is an American figure skating coach and choreographer who specializes in pair skating. She has worked as a coach since 1993 and is the 2008 USFSA/PSA Coach of the Year, an award she won after her pair teams won the gold medals at the novice, junior, and senior levels at the 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Her pair Alexa Scimeca Knierim & Chris Knierim qualified to the 2018 Winter Olympics. She is the adoptive mother of Laureano Ibarra, and he and his first partner were her first pair team.
Maia Harumi Shibutani is an American ice dancer. Partnered with her brother Alex Shibutani, she is a two time 2018 Olympic bronze medalist, a three-time World medalist, the 2016 Four Continents champion, and a two-time U.S. national champion. The siblings have won six titles on the Grand Prix series and stood on the podium at 14 consecutive U.S. Championships, at five levels including eight as seniors. They are two-time members of the US Olympic team, competing at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2018, the siblings became the first ice dancers who are both of Asian descent to medal at the Olympics. They are the second sibling duo to ever share an ice dancing Olympic medal, and the first from the United States. The Shibutani siblings are often referred to by their nickname the Shib Sibs.
