Klopka Za Pionira (Serbian Cyrillic : Клопка За Пионира; English: Trap for the Pioneer) is a noise-rock band from Serbia. Their music is built on improvisation, lyrics written by the band's vocalist Mileta Mijatović.^[1] The band has published 11 albums and EPs and two live albums on the independent record label Ne-ton.^[2]^[3]

The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet is an adaptation of the Cyrillic script for Serbo-Croatian, developed in 1818 by Serbian linguist Vuk Karadžić. It is one of the two alphabets used to write standard modern Serbian and Montenegrin, the other being Latin. In Croatian and Bosnian, only the Latin alphabet is used.

History

The band was formed in 2003 by Mileta Mijatović and Damjan Brkić in Pančevo. The band's name represented their opinion that those who attempt to create something new encounter many obstacles. While initially a duo, the band was soon joined by the bassist Vladimir Lenhart (from the bands Pamba and Petrol).

Pančevo is a city and the administrative center of the South Banat District in autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia.

During 2004 and 2005 the band had a drummer - first Vuk Palibrk (from the band Elektrolasta) and then Zoran Jović (from Napred U Prošlost and Trigger) - but they are usually recognized by the use of drum machines. Đurađ Šimić joined the band on keyboards before recording of the album Dodole and has performed with them since. Since 2005 their rhythm section consisted only of drum machines (programmed by Damjan Brkić) until they were again joined by a drummer in early 2010 - Relja Ilić from Fancy Frogs.

<i>Dodole</i> 2009 studio album by Klopka Za Pionira

Dodole is an album by the Serbian noise-rock band Klopka Za Pionira, released in 2009 on the Ne-ton independent label. This album is considered by many to be their most accessible to date. It took the band nearly two years to record and publish it, while they usually released several albums during one year. Thus it represents their most technically advanced effort. Musically, it contains songs with a more mainstream rock'n'roll approach, standard form and length. The name of the album comes from the lyrics of the song "Pagani", in which the old pagan Slavic ritual of Dodole is mentioned. The cover illustration by Larisa Acikov depicts burning pagan totems.

In 2009 their album Dodole appeared on the Popboks list of best albums for 2009.^[4]

After more than a year of performing the Dodole tracks live and not working on any new material, the band was invited by the organizers of the Koperground festival to compose and record a couple of new songs in the local radio-television station's studio. They traveled to Slovenia in summer of 2010 and recorded the album in a shortened line-up (minus the drummer and the keyboard player) backed by the guest contributions of their sound engineer Stefan Malešević. After recording the album, the band had problems with preparing their live sets, due to the line-up differences between new and old material and the fact that the band members lived in different cities. After trying out various combinations, the band has currently settled on their earliest line-up, consisting only of Mijatović and Brkić. Šimić has compiled a remix album of Živa sila, available as a free download on the band's website, Lenhart is opening with a DJ-set on live shows, and Relja Ilić definitely left the band during the mixing sessions of Živa Sila, without contributing to any of the band's official discography.

Haker ili iskušavanje đavola is the second album by the Serbian noise-rock band Klopka Za Pionira, released in 2004 on the Ne-ton independent label. A big departure from the sound of first album, this album is unique by many standards in the band's body of work. It is the only album without Vladimir Lenhart, since there are no bass lines in any of the songs. Also, there is no guitar and no vocal input from Mileta Mijatović, the band's singer. The whole album consists of various machine buzzes and computer generated noises accompanied by a large amount of sampled voices originating from English translations of speeches by Josip Broz Tito, operas in Serbian, children's educational records, Orthodox chanting, the opening speech from a concert entitled "Trumpets of Peace" held in Sarajevo 1977, "The Internationale" sung in Serbian, various commercials, old Yugoslav movies, SpongeBob SquarePants dubbed in Serbian, etc.

Vratićeš se Satane is the third album by the Serbian noise-rock band Klopka Za Pionira, released in 2005 on the Ne-ton independent label. It consists of ten songs, cover versions of tracks by Satan Panonski, which is unusual for Klopka. It is also unusual for Mileta to sing lyrics that are not his own. The cover art was by Bouraiqc des Merdes.
