Background and themes

The split EP was Knocked Loose's second official release, following their debut EP Pop Culture . The tracks on the EP continue the band's aggressive, breakdown-heavy approach, while Damaged Goods contributes a raw, fast-paced hardcore sound. The collaboration helped both bands gain traction in the underground hardcore scene. [2]

Reception

The EP received mixed reviews, with praise for its raw energy but criticism for its production quality. New Transcendence highlighted Knocked Loose's contribution as "bare-knuckle aggression infinitely more violent than Mayweather and Pacquiao’s recent fight," emphasizing the band's ability to blend traditional hardcore speed with crushing breakdowns. [1]

Album of the Year noted that while the EP showcased strong songwriting, the production was "bass-heavy and compressed," making the vocals difficult to hear at times. Despite this, the site acknowledged that the raw mix added a unique intensity to Knocked Loose's tracks. [2]
