Konik horse breed

The Konik or the Polish primitive horse is a small, semi-feral horse, originating in Poland. The Polish word konik is the diminutive of koń, the Polish word for "horse". However, the name "konik" or "Polish konik" is used to refer to certain specific breeds. Koniks show many primitive markings, including a dun coat and dorsal stripe.

Konik is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Czeremcha, within Hajnówka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Belarus.

Podlachia Place in Poland

Podlachia or Podlasie, is a historical region in the eastern part of Poland. Between 1513 and 1795 it was a voivodeship with the capital in Drohiczyn. Now the part north of the Bug River is included in the modern Podlaskie Voivodeship with the capital in Białystok.

Stadion na Koniku is situated at the southwest part of Konik, a southeastern suburb of Podgorica, at the Ćemovsko Polje, the ‘only desert in Montenegro’. The stadium is situated in the zone where in the future will be the ‘New town’. So, the actual ‘face’ of stadium will be changed. It is planned adding two big stands with 6.000 places, as well as many shops and the shopping center in the vicinity.

Heck horse horse breed

The Heck horse is a horse breed that is claimed to resemble the tarpan, an extinct wild equine. The breed was created by the German zoologist brothers Heinz Heck and Lutz Heck in an attempt to breed back the tarpan. Although unsuccessful at creating a genetic copy of the extinct species, they developed a breed with grullo coloration and primitive markings. After the Nazi invasion of Poland, they were introduced to the Białowieża Forest, where a small herd still survives. Heck horses were subsequently exported to the United States, where a breed association was created in the 1960s.
