Career
After graduating from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kostiantyn Stohnyiwas on probation at different Soviet, Ukrainian and foreign editorial offices and agencies. The next stage in his life was a job in an American TV magazine National Geographic, in which he was the coordinator of a TV program Travelling the Countries of Former USSR. With his French colleagues, Stohnyi reported on radio covering the War in Transnistria. From 1998 to 2007 he worked at the Ukrainian TV channel Inter. Here Stohnyi created a number of TV programs about resonant criminal events and historical investigations.
Stohnyi's first project was an information program In Time. However, he received the highest prevalent popularity among television audience in 2002 as an anchorman for an analytical TV program Criminal. And later his popularity has grown thanks to an analytical program "The Country Should Know". Kostiantyn Stohnyi and his TV programs are becoming annual prize-winners of the most famous international journalistic ratings such as Golden Feather, Detective Fest, Golden Georgiy. In 2005 Stohnyi filled a position of the head of Documentaries and special projects studio. Simultaneously, his new author program Duty Camera was launched on Inter.
Historical events, lost cities, magic rituals, mysteries of the ancient – are the topics of Kostiantyn Stognii's special projects on Inter. For instance, in a special project City in Graves, Stohnyi revealed the archival materials of the war in Transdnistria, represented chronicle of events, and interviewed its veterans. He succeeded in communicating with a person who was in captivity. Thoroughly concealed truth about the tragedy in Bendery was revealed in Kostiantyn Stohnyi's journalistic investigation.
In 2008 Kostiantyn Stohnyi sets up his own journalistic agency of investigations, ZH.A.R.A. ZH.A.R.A. works out his new author project Emergency News for ICTV channel. In 2009 this TV program pretended to gain the leadership in nomination as "TV Program of the Year" at the annual nationwide award "Man of the Year". And its anchorman – Kostiantyn Stohnyi , was nominated by ICTV channel for the title of "Journalist of the Year in Mass Media Branch". In 2009 another Stohnyi 's author project was launched on ICTV – The Country Must Know.
The greatest fame to Kostiantyn Stognii's studio ZH.A.R.A. was brought by documentaries, shot in the hot spots of the world, following the traces of global and resonant events: seizure of hostages in Moscow theatre on Dubrovka, fall of shuttle, mortal tsunami in Thailand, SARS epidemic, emancipation of the pirates-captured ship Faina. And also the tapes, shot in the areas of combat operations: Kosovo, Transdniestria, Iraq, Pankisskoe ravine (the border of Georgia and Chechnya), Somalia, Afghanistan.
Since the year 2003 Stohnyi has been an author of documentaries. During this period of time he has created 58 documentary projects, such as:
• Lifeline – year 2003, expedition to Iraq. For this film the president of Iraq Saddam Hussein conferred the Medal of Gratitude on Kostiantyn Stohnyi;
• God Coffin Guard – year 2003, expedition to Syria;
• Kadorskoe Ravine – year 2006, expedition to Georgia. For this film the president of Georgia Eduard Shevernadze conferred the Medal of Honour on Kostiantyn Stognii;
• Tsunami – year 2004, expedition to Thailand;
• Object 100 Mystery – year 2008, expedition to Puerto Rico;
• In Shaitan’s Captivity – year 2009, expedition to Afghanistan;
• Secret Services War – year 2010, expedition to Somalia;
• The Last Hitler’s Secret – year 2011, Chile – Argentina – Antarctica;
• Maya. End of the World – year 2012, Mexico – Guatemala.
In 2011 Kostiantyn Stohnyi initiated the creation of a TV serial Picture in Chalk. This is the first film in Ukraine, based on real criminal business. The film hit the screen on December 16, 2011, on ICTV channel, ranking very high among the TV audience.
In March 2012, Kostiantyn Stohnyi organized his new expedition to Mexico and Guatemala. For more than 20 days Kostiantyn Stohnyi together with his survey squad and expedition members collected the information, facts and documents about the ancient Maya civilization. The expedition discovered the ruins of the ancient city Atlan at the bottom of the lake Isabal (Guatemala).
Kostiantyn Stohnyi has already arranged the collected facts in the documentary Maya. End of the World. This film will ruin the stereotypes about Maya Indians and their calendar, which were imposed on people's minds by American yellow press as far back as the beginning of the previous century.

The highland Kʼicheʼ states in the pre-Columbian era are associated with the ancient Maya civilization, and reached the peak of their power and influence during the Mayan Postclassic period.
The Maya are an ethnolinguistic group of indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica. The ancient Maya civilization was formed by members of this group, and today's Maya are generally descended from people who lived within that historical region. Today they inhabit southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and westernmost El Salvador and Honduras.

Casa Na Bolom is located in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. It was the home of archeologist Frans Blom and his wife, documentary photographer, journalist, environmental pioneer Gertrude Duby Blom. Today, Casa Na Bolom operates as a hotel, museum, and research center run by Asociación Cultural Na Bolom, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the Lacandon Maya and the preservation of the Chiapas rain forest.
Arthur Andrew Demarest is an American anthropologist and archaeologist, known for his studies of the Maya civilization.
David S. Stuart is an archaeologist and epigrapher specializing in the study of ancient Mesoamerica, the area now called Mexico and Central America. His work has studied many aspects of the ancient Maya civilization. He is widely recognized for his breakthroughs in deciphering Maya hieroglyphs and interpreting Maya art and iconography, starting at an early age. He is the youngest person ever to receive a MacArthur Fellowship, at age 18. He currently teaches at the University of Texas at Austin and his current research focuses on the understanding of Maya culture, religion and history through their visual culture and writing system.
Savik Shuster is a journalist and television anchor. He presented The Freedom By Savik Shuster, and starting in 2005, Svoboda slova, on ICTV. Since December 2015, he produces and leads political talk shows on his independent 3S.tv, after he has been cancelled from several tycoon-owned channels. In December 2016, 3S.tv announced it had ceased its activities, and on 1 March 2017, the channel stopped broadcasting. According to an official statement, the reason was that the business was no longer viable due to several litigations and corresponding financial constraints. All court cases were subsequently closed. In 2019, Shuster came back to Ukraine as the anchor of Svoboda slova Savika Shustera on the Ukraina television channel.
William Andrew "Bill" Saturno is an American archaeologist and Mayanist scholar who has made significant contributions toward the study of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization. Saturno is a former director of the Proyecto San Bartolo-Xultun at the Instito de Antropologia e Historia in Guatemala, a former national space research scientist at the Marshall Space Flight Center, and a research associate at the Peabody Museum at Harvard University. Saturno has previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Archaeology at Boston University and MIT and as a lecturer at the University of New Hampshire.
Robert J. Sharer was an American archaeologist, academic and Mayanist researcher. He was known for his archaeological investigations at a number of pre-Columbian Mesoamerican sites conducted over a career spanning four decades, and for his archaeological reports, theorizing, and writings in his field of specialty, the ancient Maya civilization. Sharer was a lecturer and professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Anthropology for more than 30 years, and as of 2008, occupied the endowed chair of Sally and Alvin V. Shoemaker Professor in Anthropology, an appointment which he held beginning in 1995. He also had an extensive association with Penn's University Museum of archaeology and anthropology, where from 1987 to 2009 he was the curator-in-charge of the museum's American collection and research section. He died on September 20, 2012.
The 2012 phenomenon was a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events would occur on or around 21 December 2012. This date was regarded as the end-date of a 5,126-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and festivities took place on 21 December 2012 to commemorate the event in the countries that were part of the Maya civilization, with main events at Chichén Itzá in Mexico and Tikal in Guatemala.
Yevgeny Alexeyevich Kiselyov is a Russian television journalist. As the host of the NTV weekly news show Itogi in the 1990s, he became one of the nation's best known television journalists, criticizing government corruption and President Boris Yeltsin. In 2001, he left NTV following its takeover by the state-controlled company Gazprom, serving briefly as general manager of TV-6 before the government refused to renew its broadcasting license in January 2002. He later moved to Ukraine, where he became a presenter of various political talk shows.

It began broadcasting at the start of the invasion on February 24, 2022, as #UAtogether and broadcast on Rada TV, the official television channel of the Verkhovna Rada.
