Benque Viejo del Carmen ("Benque") is the westernmost town in Belize, 130 km (81 mi) by road west and south of Belize City, at the Guatemalan border. San Ignacio lies 13 km to the east and Melchor de Mencos just across the border. The Mopan River runs along the town's north and west edges.

After the 2012 election he was made Minister of Trade Investment, Private Sector Development and Consumer Protection.

The upper house of the Belize National Assembly, the Senate, was appointed after the election by the UDP-led government in accordance with the Constitution of Belize.
Santa Elena Sporting Complex is a football stadium based in Santa Elena, Cayo District, Belize. It is home to Verdes, who compete in the Premier League of Belize. Since 2018 Verdes have been using the stadium along with their usual home, Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
