Kurt Zdesar is a restaurateur, who was born in Sydney Australia and had begun his career very early in the hospitality industry. Having moved to Europe early in his life, London became the platform for Kurt. Kurt Zdesar was European Director for Nobu. The first European restaurant was opened in London, which received a Michelin-Star within 10 months of opening, the UK's first Michelin-Star for Asian cuisine. [1] [2] [3] Nobu London was voted "Restaurant of the Year" in 2003 and 2004 by the world renowned Restaurant Magazine.
Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds Port Jackson and extends about 70 km (43.5 mi) on its periphery towards the Blue Mountains to the west, Hawkesbury to the north, the Royal National Park to the south and Macarthur to the south-west. Kurt Zdesar launched and founded his own concept called Ping Pong. Ping Pong was also recognised as one of the UK's fastest growing companies and continues to be one of London's Popular Asian restaurants. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] In September 2013 Kurt Zdesar opened Chotto Matte in Soho's Frith Street bringing together Japanese and Peruvian culture. Chotto Matte which is known for its Nikkei cuisine and cocktail. [9] Following the success of Chotto Matte's launch Kurt opened Black Roe in March 2016, London's first Poke bar and grill inspired by the Pacific Rim. [10] [11] [12]
In October 2016 Kurt Zdesar continued to expand his operation by opening Fucina, a modern organic Italian restaurant located in the heart of Marylebone. [13] In January 2017 Kurt Zdesar created a new concept, the opening of Paneterria by Fucina, an artisanal organic delicatessen. [13]
2017 will also see the launch of Chotto Matte's first international outlet in Miami, currently scheduled to open in September 2017. [14] [15] [16] [17] [18]

Neil Arthur Perry AM is an Australian chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter. He also is the co-ordinator for Qantas Flight Catering under his company Rockpool Consulting. He also cooks high quality Korean BBQ foods and is an expert in Asian cuisine.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is a five-star hotel located on Connaught Road in Central, Hong Kong, owned and managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The hotel opened in 1963 as "The Mandarin". In 2005, the hotel spent USD 150 million to renovate its 501 guestrooms, 10 restaurants, and numerous public spaces, as well as to construct the three-storey Mandarin Spa, one of a few Forbes Five-Star spas in Hong Kong.
Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa is a Japanese celebrity chef and restaurateur known for his fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian ingredients. His signature dish is black cod in miso. He has restaurants bearing his name in several countries. He has also played small parts in three major films.
Hakkasan is a Chinese restaurant first opened in Fitzrovia in London, England but has since expanded to many cities worldwide. The restaurant was founded in 2001 by Alan Yau, who was also behind the Wagamama Japanese restaurants and later the Yauatcha restaurant, also in London. It serves modern Cantonese cuisine fused with Western dining experience. The Hakkasan group has also branched into hospitality and entertainment with a nightclub opened in Las Vegas.
Brian James Turner is a British chef, based in London. He has appeared as a cook on BBC2's Ready Steady Cook since 1994, has appeared on numerous occasions on Saturday Kitchen and has also presented various other cookery programmes.
Drew Nieporent is a New York City restaurateur. His company Myriad Restaurant Group owns and operates numerous restaurants, many of which are known for their celebrity clientele, and in some cases celebrity co-owners.
Jason Atherton is an English chef and restaurateur. His restaurant Pollen Street Social gained a Michelin Star in 2011, its opening year. He was the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay's Michelin starred Maze in London until 30 April 2010. In 2014 he co-hosted the Sky Living TV series My Kitchen Rules.
David Moore is a restaurateur based in the United Kingdom.
Colony, or Colony Bar and Grill is a restaurant, bar and grill located at 7–9 Paddington Street, Marylebone, Central London, England. It opened in early April 2010 and was run by restaurateur Carlo Spetale and the Michelin-starred executive chef Atul Kochhar.
Alvin Leung King-lon, is an English-born Hong Kong chef and television personality. He holds three Michelin stars at his restaurant Bo Innovation and one Michelin star at Bo London. He is nicknamed The Demon Chef, and has invented his own cuisine which he calls X-Treme Chinese, which includes meals such as an edible condom on a mushroom beach. He spent £1.7 million on his second restaurant, Bo London, based in Mayfair, London. It closed after a year in business. Another restaurant, Bo Shanghai was opened in Shanghai, China.
Hoshino Resort Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based international operator of ryokan with its head office in Karuizawa, Nagano. Founded in 1904 by Kuniji Hoshino as a forestry business in Karuizawa, in the Japanese Alps, it opened its first hot spring resort in 1914.
Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's was a restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay and located with Claridge's hotel in Mayfair, London. Blackstone Group had enquired about Ramsay's availability to open a restaurant after he was awarded three Michelin Stars at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. It marked the first of a number of restaurants that Ramsay would open at hotels owned by Blackstone. It opened in 2001, and by the fourth year was making a profit of £2 million a year. Mark Sargeant was the chef de cuisine of the restaurant until 2008, during which time the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star.

Araki was a sushi restaurant run by Japanese chef Mitsuhiro Araki (荒木水都弘) in the Ginza neighbourhood of Tokyo, Japan. It received a three-star rating in the 2011 edition of the Michelin Guide for Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura. Described as "Japan's most difficult restaurant to make a booking at", the restaurant closed in February 2013 so that Araki could pursue a new challenge overseas, which led to him opening The Araki in London in October 2014. In March 2019, Araki moved to Hong Kong to open another restaurant and was replaced at The Araki in London by Marty Lau. While The Araki had three Michelin star ratings, it was stripped of all three stars in the 2020 guide.
Nieves Barragán Mohacho is a Spanish chef who held a Michelin star while executive head chef at Barrafina in London, England. She has since opened her own restaurant, Sabor, also in London.
